This is a while back, and appropos of nothing, but it fits here and it is something I have been thinking far too much about. Do any "Flat Earth" believing people live on the coast? Because if so, how in the name of everliving gently caress could they stay Flat Earthers? When a boat comes in to port, you see the top of it firs as it rides it's way over the horizon, the same way it dips out of view when it heads out to sea. Simple, observable, and easily explainable proof that the earth is at the very least curved. Sorry for that, but I don't know ant Flat Earthers, and am astounded that people could be that willingly and stubbornly anti-science as to argue against their own perceptions.

There seems to be a bunch of stories all over this forum of fat, lazy, entitled arsehole military people. I am not military myself, (never served, never will), but I don't understand it. I thought the military was supposed to beat that poo poo out of you, and give you discipline, and physical fitness etc. lovely political opinions aside, how do fat lazy entitled people survive in the army/navy/whatever? Surely if the military lifestyle wouldn't harden them up, then the other people in their platoon or whatever would get tired of their poo poo very quickly and sort them out.

I suppose, but my argument is always that guns make it easy to kill people. Sure people will always find a way to kill someone/themselves if they really want to, but we should be making it as difficult as possible, and not handing them things that are literally designed to make it as easy to kill multiple people at a time.
