After the Kawachi I tried other nations T2 BB. They are all trash garbage compared to it.

Also, applied to Goonsfleet as Day10194. For whatever reason, it wouldn't take Night10194 for a screen name, so I had to change it up.

Being able to manually control your secondaries and being able to act as actual artillery but also brawl with, again, the secondaries makes being a BB in this game approximately 4 times as fun as being one in WoWS.

I like DDs, but I'm not sure I'm playing them too well. Can someone explain spotting and scouting a bit better? I just get points for discovering enemy vessels and for having them in sight while far off BBs blow the poo poo out of them, right?

I just had a game that was basically nothing but submarines on both sides and taught a few T2 IJN subs that in the land of the subs, the man with the deck gun is king.

Getting deck gun kills with the Type O is the best thing in this game so far. Also, it feels like half of every team is BBs; I don't have a problem with BB mechanics and really enjoy them, but it's a little annoying how much of each team will be BBs.

I just got a near 10,000 damage game in my Florida, on my daily double. :catstare:

I don't know why. The enemy just ignored me completely and the shells kept going exactly where I wanted them, while the enemy cruisers and things cruised around at half speed like little target dummies waiting to get dunked. It was wonderful. I see why BBs are so popular now.

Oh, I tend to advance some in my BB and try to back the light guys up. As long as they're there to make it hard to torpedo me, the secondaries and the occasional dunking will let me help them with the other light forces while I shoot big guns at big boats.

I mean my very next game in the Mahan I got just as much EXP by spotting, scampering around, and occasionally taking out a sub or other light ship going for the fat BBs and then eventually rushing in to torpedo the last enemy BB. It seems like the rewards are pretty even.

Also, a question about fighting subs: What do you aim for when you attack a shallow submarine? The shadow or the actual boat itself in the water? I've noticed the hitbox on them feels a little odd.

I think the only mechanic this game really needs is a limit on the number of BBs per side. It's kind of ridiculous that it's usually half of each team.

It's really astonishing and alien to me to see a Japanese DD with guns that work, but the Fubuki's cannons seem to hit like a train compared to the Mahan. I think I'm still stuck thinking of IJN DDs as having lovely guns from World of War Ships.

Whenever I shoot at BBs I try to aim so that I'll hit open deck or the smokestacks. Open deck plunging fire will usually penetrate and smashing the smoke stacks will gently caress up the engine.

I've also noticed the Omaha's guns will pierce the smoke stacks on a BB and help do some damage.

The buddy I play with rolled a +500m spotting range commander and stuck him on his rangefinder boosted Mahan. Now he plays that and I play a BB and we just dunk all over our foes without them seeing us back.

He got MVP of a game for spotting damage and fighting off a single Fubuki and sub alone.

For me the main drawback is the poor spotting range. Everything else I can offset or take as a tradeoff, but a DD with poor base spotting range hurts. Especially when the enemy scout screen then sees you first.

I need some advice on light cruisers. I'm having a lot of trouble driving them compared to other ships; I try to stay a bit erratic to avoid getting dunked by BBs but it doesn't quite work. When I get spotted by DDs it feels like every battleship on the map decides CLs are EXP and silver pinatas.

I sympathize with this feeling, because I find myself doing the same to enemy CLs as a BB. What should I keep in mind when driving one?

Also, I had some serious bullshit happen to my Kuma earlier today. I was firing torps at a sure shot Omaha that I was about to sink at close range, when a sub that was in between us came up from deep to shallow out of nowhere, and he was in safe range. All but one torp collided with him and got eaten, only one hitting the Omaha. :negative:

Does leveling someone via qual points improve their base command points? The things that just give the base 'Yeah you get this bonus for them being in this position'?

Because I have a 4 star British carrier guy who gives some really nice bonuses just from his base skill as a commander if I shove him in the Gunner slot.

I'm really enjoying the A-Class. The lack of AA hurts, but the really accurate, fairly fast firing guns mean a lot when fighting other scouts, the sonar is great, and the torps are adequate. I managed to slip into the enemy battleship row and get close with it and ended up taking out 5 of them.

Fubuki still mightiest T3 DD, though.

You know, there's a lot of stuff that makes this way better than World of Warships, but the single biggest thing is that it actually has team mechanics. Scouting for allies, finding a sub a clean way through to knife all the enemy BBs, escorting people, dunking on subs, all these things are just as fun as sitting back and blasting people to hell with a BB.
