So yeah, I'd go with your submit 5 photos idea and then you pick the best 2 for the zine. You'll also probably want to cap the number of participants to maybe 30 so that this doesn't get out of hand.

PS: If you're not comfortable being the curator, I nominate 365 Nog Hogger, who is the Official Dorkroom Mod-Approved Arbiter Of What Is And Is Not Art.

Seems fair. They deal with the organization, payment, etc.

Plus more people will probably buy in making things cheaper for everyone.

Kickstarter makes sense for this I think.

We're paying a little bit of a premium to have a cover made of some seriously nice heavy, matte cardstock. It'd be a shame to use it just for one photograph on the front and a graph on the back.
