Serious question: Why would I use Authenticator Plus over say just Google Authenticator? Like what's the case for it? Does it consolidate all of the individual app authenticators into one like facebook/google etc?

I've got like 10 sites in Authenticator Plus. It syncs them to other devices, or if you get a new device.

Plus a lot of MMOs have 2FA which some of them use the standardized stuff Authy/Auth+ uses. Which is one thing they're fantastic for, you might stop playing those for months/years before going back again and good luck finding your fob or if you've switched devices and "won't ever play again". Though unless it's changed recently it doesn't apply to WoW but does for Guild Wars and Star Wars.

WoW has 2FA but they force you to use their app to do it.

Ok so I'm trying to break free from the garbage facebook app and going to their mobile site only. I'm using Chrome (Beta) and I have notifications enabled but I still can't manage to see any notifications for facebook in the shade or notification bar. Am I missing a step here? m.facebook.com shows up in chrome settings as allowed for notifications.

Do i need to go back to just the non-beta version of Chrome?

Does another app (Swype? Is that still a thing?) do flow a lot better than SwiftKey? I rarely use it but when I do it seems wholly functional, just rather limited by my own lack of speed when trying to hold the phone and type with it at the same time, probably while walking and trying not get hit by a bus or whatever.

Anyway what I'm saying is it doesn't seem like it could be much better but is there another app that is actually a swiping game changer or something?

Swype is the best at swipe typing but it's predictive engine isn't that great. It's also pretty bad at predictive peck typing.

Google Keyboard is about on par with SwiftKey on swipe typing

I think Messenger is the absolute best Google-designed app available on Android. It:
  • does one thing, which is send SMS messages. It does that one thing well.
  • sends SMS messages and only SMS messages, so the person you're sending the message to will receive your message regardless of platform, region, app usage, mobile network, preferred social network, etc.
    • well, besides any network issues, which will be out of your control and also affect others nearby anyway. Shared adversity!
  • has no extraneous 'value added' features, besides those required to send SMS messages.
  • neatly highlights unread messages, and allows you to swipe away conversations you're done with without deleting them entirely.

...so I won't be surprised a single little bit when it's turned into a Fit-integrated social video livestreaming service at I/O this year, and abandoned before I/O next year

The look and feel of it sucks if you don't like the look of that ecosystem

I'm sure there's a way to do this but my brain is broken at the moment.

Here's what I would like to do:

1. I want to hear the ringtone for contacts when they call or text and everyone else it vibrates the phone
2. I want to vibrate only for every other notification on the phone (facebook/gmail/whatever)

I'm thinking a mixture of Do Not Disturb will accomplish this but I can't remember if Do Not Disturb only silences and you're unable to get vibrations.
