What the father did with the policy while he owned it was 100% legal and the ownership change assigns all tax obligations as well as the current cash value, loans, etc. to the new owner. I suggested he talk to a tax attorney and sent him on his way. I'm not getting involved in that situation at all. Too big of a mess. Either the son was defrauded by having the condition of the policy that he was accepting ownership of misrepresented, or is so as to be unable to enter into contracts.
