the ability to skip animations and the fact the AI turns don't make you watch each enemy movement sort of ruined a lot of other tactics games for me

mysterious loyall X posted:good news op, recent fire emblem games let you skip entire enemy turns, and in fe13 you can auto resolve entire battles with no player input at all. jump in! neat.

^^^^ shining force 2 is probably one of my favorite games in general so i hear youmysterious loyall X posted:uh, in fe13 you could let the computer play out your turn, hit strat to auto resolve your turn, then hit start again to auto resolve the enemy turn. so really you had to hit 3 buttons. its not quite as convenient as auto resolvig the entire battle with one button, but what can you do this reminds me of the "All Out" command in an NES capcom RPG called "Destiny of an Emperor" that pretty much just sped along the fight by having your dudes just randomly attack people and cut out all the "DUDE DID X DAMAGE TO Y" messages. I wish more RPGs or other games did stuff like this because it really helps fight off boredom. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMEDr7Wo9vE&t=2h11m10s
