 Snippet from Pitchfork's review last week (they gave it a 7.6): It almost seems cliché for metal bands to incorporate influences from decidedly non-metal genres in 2015, a year that brought us new releases from Deafheaven, Liturgy, and more obscure bands from the depths of Bandcamp and their own independent distribution platforms. Shoegaze, post-rock, indie rock; even Sega Genesis MIDI tracks aren't safe from artists tweaking their formula to suit the barely delineated confines of the metal genre. So when alternative press touts a band like PS Normandy as "the next big thing in metal", one can't help but raise a suspicious yet intrigued eyebrow. What can this band do that countless wannabe Burzums haven't already?
