 a lot of indie games have local multi, but i'm pretty sure that's less to do with having fun with your friends in the same room and more to do with netcode being too hard to do in klik 'n' play

 my favorite local play console game is puzzle fighter

it's only two players, but winner stays on works fine while everybody else bullshits, fetches drinks and mimics morrigan's anime-toff laugh (DOHOHOHOHOHO)
