I think it helps that it feels like a combination of admiration/the type of love between a father and daughter then something more physical.

That chapter got quite rough until they finally confirmed that they will get married. Though to be fair unless he meets somebody out of school, no one in school is going to even try to get involved due to it being obvious that he is already taken
