Well you can't stop people review bombing f2p games, but you actually need to play the game on Steam (which involves buying if game's not free) to write review. I'm not saying people on Steam are rational, but really you'd go through all that effort (buying, installing, playing, then maybe refunding) just to review bomb a game, and get other thousands of people to do the same?

im pretty sure his line of defense thing was free when that review thing happened and with f2p you can literally just click 'play game,' start the download, and you can write a review

which is exactly what im going to do with MWO and it will be a negative review

It's not like his previous, non-free-to-play games were reviewed well either. He's just finding people to blame for his own failures in game development, as he has done since BC 3000.

idk, I checked price history and it went from $40 initially (Sep 2014) to $10. No indication of it ever being free on Steam.

And yes I am sure there will be some rush to review bomb MWO (maybe, maybe not), but :pgi: is not going to care as long as it still makes money from selling champion/hero/whatever mechs for $20~60 each.

Yeah I'm not defending that reviews are trustworthy or whatever, but just laughing at the fact that D_Smart is complaining about 'rampant review bombing' and Steam not doing much about it.

lol gently caress yes

I mean I won't but some people will. EXpect that chronojam timeline to get linked a lot.

given how niche mwo is I don't know if the numbers of rage-clotted mechgrogs are going to be sufficient to really tank its rating, but also given how bad PGI are at marketing they might not get that many new players rating it either? idk

TO clarify the above, Long Live the Queen isn't porn at all (unless something freaky happens farther in than I got), it's actually pretty rad. You can piss off nobles and they'll poison your chocolate and then you die.

SRM brawlers are fun again, and IS robots aren't 'as' fragile as they were vs furry-bots. The game, and meta, are still pretty lovely... But :pgi: has run their annual "hope" patch and gotten some of us to re-install.

All of the good will be patched out in 6 months and everybody will be sane again, playing legit good games like nothing Derek Smart has made or can concieve without heavy litigation.

That is your page-4 state of the game. You are welcome.

PS- Still an anime game, no excuses for LLtQ.

I think I was a little too nostalgic last post. The tutorial lead me to believe it was like days of yore when I was going to go around and just be dropped into my favorite Mech. When trying to play like a subpar nerd I found you have to have MC to buy the Mech you wanted and that jpeg was 30$??? Is this the normal? I'm assuming this is SC'eque and some sort of early access. We haven't all gone mad in this world and allowed this to be the new normal have we? (totally stole that line from Obama, thanks O)

I gravitated towards the Greens, eventually even joining the party itself.

The Linke is a party I grudgingly accept exists, but I've learned enough about DDR-history I can't bring myself to trust a party that was once the SED, a party leading the corrupt state apparatus ...

Yeah, but it's kind of fun just stomping around shooting at things. Waiting ten minutes for a CW-deployment could need some work, though. I guess not enough players for more?

And of course as soon as I dropped into a CW-match today, my cat jumped on my lap and demanded a comb-over (she's getting her winterfur and without regular attention, she starts vomitting fur all over the place). This of course meant I was controlling my mechs only with one hand, while someone really frustrated sounding gave me orders to move around I often had to ignore since controlling battlemechs with one hand is kind of hard. :v:

You can play a free trial robot; they used to be terrible (really, really terrible) stock builds, now they're okay. If you play 25 matches you'll get enough Cbills to fit out one decent robot fully, which will include all of the roots that have been out for a while, the most recent few robots are only real money (MC). You get Cbills from playing rounds, probably ~100-200k per round once you're past the first 25 matches

Right now during peak hours were having the opposite problem: all the possible matches on Tukkayid are running non stop. The planet is already set to the maximum the interface can handle so we can't add any more match slots.

Basically, Tukkayid is full during this event.

I've got to say, from an outsider's perspective all the red meat they're throwing to the community in the last two weeks is kind of suspicious. It's either the world's best timing from a company that's never demonstrated the ability, or they held back a lot of fixes that they knew would get people hyped up until just before the Steam release.

A far cry from the days they transitioned from beta to release simply by removing the little tag that said "beta" and absolutely nothing else.

New thread new opportunities! Have they added an option to (permanently, not from holding down a button) lock the camera to the arm aim cursor rather than to the chest aim cursor yet? I bought a founder's pack but have yet to play the game more than 2-3 days in a row. MWO and SOTS2 cured me from pre-orders.

Emerald Taiga is a piece of garbage map. Every time I (literally) turn around, my computer freezes for .5 to 5 seconds as it loads textures. I suppose if I had opted for 4 SLI'd titans instead of a lowly gtx 960, I wouldn't have that problem. Strangely, not only do I not have this problem on any other map, Taiga is easily the worst looking map in the game. There is just something wrong with that map from a technical standpoint.

so... you want you torso locked with the legs? sounds dumb. you'd need individual keys to turn your torso and legs. thats dumb

3rd edit: i mean, there is an option as well as a bindable toggle key for locking the arms to the torso reticle, if that is what you mean

No I'd like the torso to follow the arm cursor at its own speed like normal but I want the camera to centre on the arm cursor rather than on the torso aim point.
