Stalins Moustache posted:Charisma.com is legit awesome and more people should listen to them. They never fail to disappoint, although the more "proper" rap songs on their albums fall flat for me since I've no idea what she's rapping about I'm a big fan of rap in languages i don't understand, no idea why, there's something pure about hearing the lyrics only as part of the composition that appeals to me. Speaking of, I've always been a big Rip Slyme fan, mostly their first few albums: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYwN6riZJ3g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hFFzdD6ppQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-aQT9lsX7I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXVu-Wt1TQA Masterpiece is one of my favourite albums of all time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z29HMZBw0Kw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLJV19emC2Q https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--EcXEnYm7o Later stuff is a little iffy, but still some gems in there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asLRL5r2f-E Then there's this which is basically just a Sony Vaio ad for some reason: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqxBYTOE7kU

Gamma Nerd posted:Yeah. I guess part of what makes Japanese appealing in this way is that the syllables are all very similar length and use pretty crisp consonants with lots of punchy bright plosives, which makes the vocal rhythms a lot clearer to me than most English hiphop. Yeah, I really like German rap acts such as Fanta4 for similar reasons. That second Suiyobi no Campanella track is phenomenal, gonna have to track more of her stuff down. She looks insanely prolific, what's a good starting point? JAMOOOL posted:I've listened to a lot of J-hiphop to find something that sounds like them but no avail. How about Scha Dara Parr? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_EQrCNLzuI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDNLyxfUVb8 (there's nothing much else on youtube for these guys, sorry)

Yeah it's definitely more traditionally-minded, much like early Rip Slyme, but it's the closest thing to Rip Slyme I've listened to in the genre. The music of Rip Slyme can't really be faulted, even when I don't like it, Fumiya is their secret weapon, the dude knows his way around a beat and a hook like very few others
