Not mine, but in Germany there is a popular book which lists some of those misunderstandings Some of them off the top of my mind: Pink Floyd's Another Brick In The Wall: "All in all, you're just a (-nother brick in the wall)" becomes "Holt ihn, holt ihn unters Dach (-nother brick in the wall)", with the German misunderstanding meaning (Take him below the roof). This spawned an entire urban legend about a German sound technician mastering the album who had a dark past as a guy molesting children in his attic, where he later hung himself as well. Complete bollocks, of course. The Mamas and the Papa's California Dreamin': "All the leaves are brown" = "Anneliese Braun" (a somewhat old-fashioned woman's name) And my favourite: There's a popular children's lullaby in Germany ending with the lines "Und aus den Wiesen steiget / der weiße Nebel wunderbar" (and from the meadows rises the wonderful white mist). Many a child misheard that as "Und aus den Wiesen steiget / der weiße Neger Wumbaba" (and from the meadows rises the white negro Wumbaba). It's just so delightfully absurd
