Nice job capturing Wake!

If I remember right the default forces assigned to Wake usually aren't enough to take it on the first try.

Take a look at the adjusted AV in Lingyen: all the way down to a single digit! Those troops must be hella disrupted. How'd that happen? Landings can cause some disruption but not that much I thought. Probably need to rest them up however that happened.

Yep, that's probably it. The Japanese are hobbled by a lack of effective anti-armor small armors. Good eyes.

Since the USA was embargoing oil to Japan at the time and a sometime ally of Chiang Kai-Shek, it is not likely the USA would have acted as a neutral arbiter to help Japan secure peace with China.

Japan had crazy ideas about who to ask to act as a go between for them. They'd just kicked Russia's rear end, but for some reason hoped Russia would act as a go between to USA for them. :psyduck:

It'll be crazy if Changsha falls before all the forts are gone. Have we seen that happen before?

What flag is that over Manado? It's not USA or UK. It looks like a sideways French flag.

Thank you!

I can't think of a not-stupid way of asking this but I'm still curious so I'm going to ask anyways. What nations does this game model? All of them get lumped directly under Allied(PAC-COM)/Japanese control right? Even the Chinese communists are treated as allied units if I remember right?

Looks like there are still a lot of U.S. ships around the Phillipenes. Pretty gutsy of them to come in so close to your land based air.

Why prioritize Javan oil over Sumatran? Sumatra produces much more and is a much easier nut to crack than Java.

That sounds like a good reason to but Java first while he still has the boost.

After following this thread for so long I wince every time I see someone in HOI4 deploy a BB battlegroup without air cover. Its horrifying to watch them set ships to patrol at random in range of land based air.

So thank you for teaching me to fear torpedo bombers Grey.

Our battleships catch the enemy! They give chase and are able to bring down most of their escorts and get shells in on both carriers! The Enterprise is reported to be listing badly.

Have we done enough damage to stop them putting planes into the air?

I'm catching back up on the thread after not reading it the past two years. When I saw this I got the biggest grin on my face. A day worth remembering. The week before this was pretty amazing too.

Is there a game that plays out a continuation of ww2 where the allies team up with the defeated axis Powers and fight Russia following the German surrender? Mogami wasn't even hit by the bombers and it has more damage than anything else. Allies are going to have to do better than that if they want to sink the invincible IJN.
