I have spent the last two weeks reading from start of the LP to current - great read. Also, I think my first little one must be about the same age as your first little one.

Mine is a actually a little bit older so can tell you terrible twos ain't so bad - more interesting than the crying, eating, making GBS threads machines they are as newborns. Can I have USS Aaron Ward (DM-34) as my lucky ship? I kind of want to root for a Japanese ship to support the underdog but the book (Brave Ship, Brave Men) this ship was about got me right into the Pacific theater as a youngster.

ro5s posted:Would an upwards pointing gun actually be any use? That sounds like a nightmare to aim rather than just pointing your nose at something. The guns were pointed up at an angle, the intent being to approach from below and behind but out of view of the rear gunner on British heavy bombers. Once close enough to engage the unsuspecting straight flying bomber, the cannon would be fired in a long, surprising burst into the belly of the bomber, generally destroying it in one burst. It was very effective in that a lot of early losses were without the victim radioing they were under attack and the British were unaware of what was killing their night bombers for some time, assuming flak was taking them out.

Amazing effort and I will miss my regular catch-up of the thread. Looking forward to more screen shot based LPs as I can't access video from my isolated site in Africa!
