I have this thing with lying because I hate it and it's wrong so I'm really upset every drat time I hear about how powerful Roman is when he just recently added a single power move that he can't do all that well to his repertoire

Yeah I can only imagine Vince was writing Diesel's material as a babyface or something like he is with Roman. The only face promo I can readily recall from Diesel was at KotR 95 when he was in the back talking about Money Inc and he called Tatanka "Pocahontas", which had to be a Vince line. He did however sound much more believable with his 'confident, mocking tone' delivery than Roman. EDIT: You know I was thinking back to Roman's repeated references to school, learning, calling Sheamus "the Professor" because Sheamus I guess said he'd "teach [Roman] a lesson" and it hit me that Vince wrote Roman a promo on Dean Douglas. EDIT: On a real note I think Nash's charisma is evident whenever you watch him in WCW, but some of his segments/promos that we've been seeing in the PSP Tuesday Nitro airings strike me as kind of "you had to be there at the time" -- I don't really like the Wolfpac all that much and Nash hasn't wowed me on the mic since its formation, but they were really over

It's silly to say the New Day isn't getting overexposed; last week they were in 4 or 5 segments. I mean granted they're one of the only acts in the drat company that's over at all, but that's still ridiculous and unsustainable.

Hace posted:There was an incident during tonight's WWE SmackDown tapings in Jacksonville, Florida where a family had to be escorted out of the arena by security. It appears the issues began when two young boys called Roman Reigns the "n word" during his entrance. This led to some comments from other fans in that section and the boys' mother didn't respond well to people talking to her sons. The mother then got into an argument with other fans, accusing them of taking photos of her kids. Security saw there was a situation brewing and the family causing the problems was removed. Lemme tell you something brother that's just what all the little kids in Florida call their best friends when they're growing up, dude

Roman ha a very particular delivery of his babyface promos -- angled head, smug expression, awkward halting cadence, and a timbre of voice I can only describe as "whiny." It's terrible and I still can't believe this guy ever took acting lessons. I get that he's trying to sound confident but it comes across as condescension, and insincere condescension at that.

Lady Naga posted:Has there ever been a wrestler with top-notch promo delivery that had it scripted out though? Most of the examples of great wrestlers (and hell, great promos in general) people give out are ones that were either completely ad-libbed or just used bullet points. Obviously there's Cena, but it's very hard to quantify other cases. Until relatively recently, in most every company you could name, nothing was scripted anywhere close to as meticulously as it is for the current WWE roster. Besides, there were plenty of bad talkers who had to improv or work with bullet points. Like, throwing a name out here, Billy Gunn.
