McDowell posted:I don't think so. I'm going to guess the Rogue One leads will be Poe Dameron's parents. I'm fine with that. Just real watched the opening to ANH. "Rebel ships striking from a secret base..." I guess there will be some sort of airborne invasion of some kind. Would explain some of the concept art I've seen.

Jedi Steps is phenomenal l, I liked the TFA version of the opening theme. Rest of it was fine. Nothing bad, just fine. Oh, that reggae sounding song at the cantina-esque scene was pretty rad.

Well (fictional) history tells us they succeeded. But not at what price. Having the leader of the operation turn on the rebels in the end would be quite interesting. I don't think she will though.

I think Godzilla 2014 is terrific. I see things that could be better, but I think it's a very interesting and good take on a very old and established franchise. So when are we getting the new trailer then? Surely it should drop soonish?

Well that was certainly a trailer they just dropped. Given time, they might just drop the one we all actually want.

Holy poo poo I just saw the trailer for the first time at my computer and not my phone. Christ almighty does that makes a difference! I LOOOOOOVE the shot of them going into hyperspace. It really reminds me of that simulator thingy they have (had?) at MGM Studios at Disney World.

Well now we know for sure that they'll test the Death Star on what is presumably a "lighter" setting, only demolishing a continent or two, and not an entire planet. Probably not a coincidence that they choose a planet on which a huge Jedi-statue was loathing around.

It really looks strange to me.

^^ That's one of those things that I honestly could go either way with. It's really cool that they're going for accuracy with the old movie, but I know that the asymmetry wouldn't have been there at all if IV was done with the same budgets and stakes as the rest of the movies. I can forgive any "glitches" in costume designs of what was essentially a beta-version of the Star Wars universe.

I'm not up and up with all the Extended Universe stuff, but I always got the impression that you could only really use the force to your advantage if you had proper training, no matter how force sensitive you were. Then again, you'd have to ask youtself: Who was the first one who figured out that you could harness this power, and how did he/she do it then?

Maxwell Lord posted:I predict the film, while successful, will make a little less money than TFA, and so the #DumpStarWars idiots will crow about their victory while Disney shrugs and continues to make Star Wars movies. Even Disney expects it to make less than TFA so anyone who thinks that they'll be devestated when it only makes 1 billion instead of 2, are completely mistaken. Star Wars is a license to print money. As long as it doubles the budget (which it absolutely will) then the movie's in the clear.

I have little beef with the Special Edition, but I hate the added Vader dialouge just before he kills the Emperor. That scene was much better with Vader being silent.

Basebf555 posted:I can only imagine that its tough for an actor like Mads to turn down any of these big blockbuster roles, considering he's one of the few Danish actors to even make it out of their local film industry. He's probably only been making real money(as in millions) for a few years, its not like his career exactly exploded after Casino Royale. Which is a shame, because he's a great actor. I was really surprised over the lack of Mads on the big screen after 2006. At least he got Hannibal, that laster for a while.

Best parts of the score (that is overall decent but nothing spectacular) is the stuff that invokes older stuff. Like the scene when the Rebel fleet exits hyper space, or when we get our first look on the Death Star (Tarkin scene) and they play the original Imperial theme from ANH. Loved that! So we can expect a new trailer this coming SW celebration, right?
