Waffles Inc. posted:How do you mean "unneeded" As I said earlier, I feel that if you were to take Jabba out of the scene, you wouldn't lose much other than, "Hey, I know that guy!" The scene would still play out the same for all the characters we're following, the similarities to Roman chariot races is already inherently obvious, and his moments aren't particularly funny or relevant to any themes or plot points. He's just there to reinforce the chariot race parallel and to show us a character we already know, a cameo.

banned from Starbucks posted:Sure? I mean its not like a casino is gonna go up to someone and be like "poo poo youre still here spending money? Go home" Though they'll probably kick people out when they start sleeping on the floor. Unlike Jabba's Palace. Bongo Bill posted:The sequel to the movie in which Jabba is assassinated depicts him, briefly, at the height of his power. Retroactively it makes it so that the objective of Luke's raid was not merely to storm the hideout of some gangster, but to overthrow the ruler of his home planet. It is the capstone on the film's depiction of Tatooine. This also adds to the characterization of Owen, softening further its criticism of his attempts to remain apolitical and live with the Empire, in that its rise did not bring much change to the world; it's just always been like that. See now, this? This I like. I take back my earlier complaint about Jabba in TPM.

The body of Hitler was so destroyed by the fire, the skull fragment the Russians had said for decades belonged to Hitler turned out to actually belong to a woman in her thirties.

They appear to have actually listened to complaints about the first game. I was hesitant after the Battlefront was such a disappointment (beyond looking beautiful). But this looks fantastic. Though it does bug me that they say this game "introduces character classes", when the first two Battlefront games from 2004 and 2005 had them years ago. They just got rid of them for the new Battlefront game. Also, the naming convention they went with made talking about these games compared to the 2004 and 2005 games really annoying. There are now two games called Star Wars Battlefront, and two games called Star Wars Battlefront 2. Still, though.

Yeah, that's just existing Prequel era technology. homullus posted:I have bad news for you: it's poo poo like that from now until Disney sells the exhausted and nigh-worthless franchise to some wealthy fan for $10. But I guess keep blaming Disney.

Not as much as the originals, but I still find them worthy of being included in their series. I'm one of the few people you'll find who is legit excited for another Indy movie. Me too.

This thread seems fine now, though. Did something happen to fix it? I can't even get to the most recent page on the spoiler thread.
