Especially when like, he isn't really one of their friends though, is he? He's just some guy with a totally different life who they met by chance, who tends to gently caress off and go get high whenever possible. Dude has been depicted in the show as being popular outside of the main characters, too; why the hell WOULD any of them spend much time on pandering to him.

Yeah I just rewatched season 1 and I don't know why I told people it starts rough; there's so many layers and it hits the ground right from the start.

how the gently caress could it end the season like that

I hope this monster doesn't imitate Eliot all of next season. I was really hoping that it was that Eliot's love for Quentin is what kept his memory alive. But apparently not.
I don't think we'll see Eliot again. Like, it doesn't imitate people, it steals their bodies.

I can't believe I have to wait until next year for this. I'm calling the police.

I loved the ending tbh; the crew just keeps loving everything up So bad whenever they try to fix things, and dang what a gently caress up this was. I also love what they're doing with Alice.

I'm just prepared to call the police and report Syfy for making me wait so loving goddamn long for a resolution like this isn't fair or cool and I am Upset.

Quentin's arm breaking was one of the most horrifying things I've seen in a while, and holy poo poo notEliot was just oozing "I'm a god" in this episode. Why is this show so much better every season when so many others just go straight downhill.

Wungus

Also Margo wants to protect people. She knew Josh killing someone would wreck him, and for all that she's badass and aloof, she gives a poo poo. She fought with Eliot in like... last season? about how he was just given the power to rule but she wants it and she's always wanted to be able to look out for folks she cares about.

If Josh said he could kill a bad person, Margo would have walked out of there in a second - but he couldn't, and she wasn't going to make him. She'll just do that herself next time around.

Man, if you're gunna start up the episode with some super metatextual poo poo talking about representation and unfair sexism, don't include Significant Kitchen Scenes With Women where the only men a) are asked to leave the kitchen, or b) almost die in the kitchen :v:

Maybe it depends where you're from but I'm pretty sure the only reason I know those words exist is from this forum and I would be pretty surprised if 90% of the people I know in real life have heard of them. I'm honestly not sure how you're expecting most people to be familiar with these sorts of buzzwords.

'cis' is the opposite of 'trans' it's not a buzzword. 'het' is short for 'heterosexual.' 'gender' is the range of characteristics pertaining to and differentiating between masculine and feminine.

I'm wanting people to become familiar with these words because I'm hoping more popular TV shows start using them exactly like how Magicians did, because that's the context in which I hear it pretty casually used regularly.

It's not a goddamn buzzword. Cis as a term has been used in peer reviewed academic journals since at least 1998 and the only reason people are getting upset about hearing it is because of a continued effort by chud shitheads to claim it's bullshit, so that they can keep using the term "normal" or "real" to refer to people who aren't trans or nonbinary in order to keep around terms that dehumanize people! This kind of stupid-rear end mindwashing microaggression linguistic trick is explicitly a tool used by propagandists - poo poo, even stuff like using the storytelling advice of "show don't tell" is propagandistic mind control to keep people in check. gently caress, I've got receipts on this poo poo! The level that seemingly innocuous language shifts and ideas can widescale hold back social change is documented and very real even if you think you're smarter than it.

Stop fuckin' calling it a buzzword, you ignorant motherfuckers

BBT was actually dumb. I don't understand how it last so long. Someone else put it far better than I did, but it wasn't a show about nerds that would use nerd culture to make jokes. It made nerd culture the joke.
It was a totally accurate depiction of the kind of nerd who gets jobs in Silicon Valley or Washington DC and anyone who disagrees ain't never lived or worked in one of those places, or has huge blinders on and exists solely on a diet of denial and lack of self reflection.

e: It also sucked and wasn't funny, don't get me wrong, but it was spot on.
