What is this threads opinion on sprats, specifically sprats from Russia or Ukraine and their varying flavors? I am a big fan.

I just went to the local Ukrainian grocery and bought some Russian smoked sprats in oil plus fresh made pumpernickel bread. Sprat are really I think superior to the Sardine. They're a little bit meatier in my experience. Honestly, toasted pumpernickel with sprats is one of my favorite things. The next favorite would be cramming my rear end with Captain Crunch cereal putting on a eye patch and raiding a English Galleon.

what's a good brand of sardines preferably smoked that do not have bones in them. I can't eat bones because of stomache issues. My go to for canned fish is kipper snacks.

Oh wow kipper snacks with Cholula Chipotle Hot Sauce is unreal in how good it matches. Seriously I don't eat much other than kipper because I'm not suppose to eat bones or cartilage but the Cholula Chipotle hot sauce perfectly pairs with smoked fish. I'd eat sardines if I could get them smoked boneless and skinless. That would be okay for me to eat.

I can eat herring fillets just fine. I'm just not suppose to eat small bones or cartilage due to digestive issues.
