I live in California in a city slightly west of Sacramento. Being able to drive into Desolation or Granite Chief wilderness for a day hike owns so hard. For lengthier 3-day weekends I cross Monitor Pass, get on 395, and venture up a portal into the eastern side of the Sierras.
