Sorry to bump up the thread, but the state of Wisconsin's appeal for vacating Dassey's sentence was heard last month. At least 2 of the 3 judge's hearing the case challenged the deputy solicitor for Wisconsin parrot the party line that there were no questions about Dassey's interrogation. The third judge doubted detectives were changing Dassey's will to speak despite the Miranda warnings. There hasn't been a lot of media coverage of the hour hearing so you may find these stories interesting. The stories don't really cover Dassey's lawyers argument (probably because we all know it by now). I am not legal expert and the vast majority of my knowledge federal appeals court comes from being a Patriots fan... cough... Deflategate...cough. It's the judges' job to grill both sides' attorneys and go beyond legal briefs. You can't read too much into the judges behavior and line of questioning, but it sounds like Dassey got a fair hearing unlike his original trial. http://www.jsonline.com/story/news/crime/2017/02/14/chicago-appeals-court-consider-brendan-dassey-conviction-making-murderer-case/97880018/ http://www.wisn.com/article/fight-to-free-brendan-dassey-moves-to-federal-appeals-court/8807195 http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/chicagoinc/ct-brendan-dassey-7th-circuit-0215-chicago-inc-20170214-story.html An audio recording of the hearing also ended up on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Y5-S2K29waU
