But how can you say with such confidence that she wasn't brought on for that very reason? We know 4 or 5 things about her, none of which is unique to the story, and one of which is her sexuality. We may be looking at it like a box on a checklist, but that's only because it's exactly the way the author presented it to us. And look, if I didn't like The Bright Sessions, I wouldn't listen. There's something interesting about this group of the world's lamest X-Men. I just hope she can find without stumbling over herself.

Today's TANIS is easily the best they've done in a long time. Holy poo poo, that ending.. It makes me want to re-listen to the entire thing. Edit: Holy poo poo, today's Magnus Archive thanked me in the intro as a Patreon supporter!

I've said it before, but Magnus would make a stellar modern take on a show like "The Twilight Zone" or something. Different low budget actors every week acting out the story while someone narrates.

The volume seems really low on this Bright Sessions. I'm 2 notches below maxed out on my headset. If I was listening to music at this volume I'd blow my eardrums out.

It sounds like the strange disjointed mutterings of the Faceless Old Woman.. or maybe a bit like "Alice Isn't Dead" at parts. At any rate, its very compelling. I'm ~7 episodes in and just started this afternoon.

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Mabel anymore. The writing is very creative, but the dialogue doesn't sound like dialogue.. It sounds like a goth chick got a thesaurus and this is her high school journal. Also, this Rabbits sounded more like an episode of Tanis.. I'm a fan, but its been spinning its wheels for a while. I think Tanis and Rabbits are much more similar than Tanis and The Black Tapes were.

Tanis has so much promise, but you can't solve the mystery because the podcast is over, so they're going to be perpetually spinning their wheels until they get bored of it and have some sort of ultra unsatisfying conclusion. Which really sucks. I genuinely like Tanis, but I think I mostly just like hearing Nic tell me stories.
