Its that time of year again, time to look back over the past years worth of photos. When posting try to limit it to around 5/6 images to keep things reasonable for everyone viewing.

In no particular order.

2015 is my first full year shooting. I feel like I got lots better in the second half of the year - likely down to figuring how how to achieve the looks in my head. Goal for 2016 is to actually take pictures with people in them.

Someone once told me, "Time is a flat circle".
I didn't really get "serious" about photography until around May of this year, when I finally picked up my wife's old Canon 10D and starting messing around with DSLR photography. I feel like I've grown a lot, and still have a long way I want to go. And tons of gear I want to buy. Photos below are chronological, not necessarily the best, but ones that felt kinda like milestones:

It was mostly bird photography for me this year, comparing my stuff to last year/prior - getting the Tamron 150-600 in late 2014 was a great purchase. I still have a ways to go for my landscapes, but I did have one make it on the Explore page of Flickr

I have a few that are probably superior to in terms of subject, composition and technical execution, and a whole lot that are worse. But I liked these.

Edit: Next year there's going to be a lot more film.

This was from a Spartan Race I shot this year, I don't even remember where. This lady carried her service dog at the "Log Carry" obstacle. It was great. I know the W/B isn't quite on but it was one cool snap in the probably 20,000+ I took that day.

I was fortunate enough to go back to the Scottish Highlands this year and took a pretty awesome boat tour through... it was either the Moray Firth or Dornoch Firth, I want to say it was the former. I had no idea you'd ever see dolphins that far north and was lucky enough to get the bird with it.

First full year shooting. I think it was somewhere in February or March where the street thread completely tore one of my photos apart and I kind of paused and reflected for awhile and shot less and then picked up with it in May or so and feel like I've improved a bunch since then. (Street thread, don't pat yourselves on the back, you guys are still assholes.)

So I packed up my Salvador Dali print of two blindfolded dental hygienists trying to make a circle on an Etch-a-Sketch and headed for California.

I love all of these. A whole lot.

Sheesh, I shot a whole lot of photos this year. High school sports, weddings, family and senior portraits, and Spartan Races dominated my year. I've kept really busy, but it's nice.
