In this vein, The Dot and the Line: A Romance in Lower Mathematics was one of my favorite cartoons as a child, along with The Bear that Wasn't which was already posted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OmSbdvzbOzY e: Hey, one of the linking videos from the above is Donald Duck in Mathemagicland! The pool scene sticks with me to this day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJgkaU08VvY Electric Lady has a new favorite as of 16:57 on Aug 10, 2016 |

It's not particularly strange, but it is great how Froggy loves to just squeeze off a few rounds whenever he's psyched about anything Froggy Went a-Courting (1974, National Film Board of Canada) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Inywbpuj9qM

How about the Bunyip scene from Dot and the Kangaroo (1977)? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtrYO-Mog60 It's animation over live action, and terrified a generation of aussie kids. edit: actually now that I think about it that whole movie was loving peculiar. It's all up on youtube too Mx. has a new favorite as of 14:16 on Aug 15, 2016 |

Ah, here is an old animation that I just remembered. 'The Centaurs' - Winsor McCay (1921) This was an unfinished work, and some of it was lost due to not being stored properly. Youtube has the surviving clips. Every time I think of it I can't help but giggle, the last section (after about 1.35) is just hysterical to me - there's a baby centaur which is so hilariously proportioned and its toddler top half flopping around while it prances is possibly the best thing ever. (NSFW for centaur tits) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6N3giozPbI

Watching it again, the narrative leaves a lot to be desired nowadays, (especially with some of the imagery -- the line trapping the dot in a spider's web ) but it was basically my introduction to abstract visual storytelling so I still have fondness for it. I did always like the squiggle.

^^^^I loved Ed, Edd n Eddy as a kid. Here's David Lynch's The Alphabet(1968). Possibly for a breast in one scene. Definitely , particularly for children. https://vimeo.com/6217493
