One common problem for LPers, new or otherwise, is finding a co-commentator. Sometimes, it's because our other buddies are busy, or crouched in a corner, moaning "Oh god, not MegaRace aga-" ...Oh, wait, that's just me. But still, sometimes, we feel we need someone to riff off of, and that's good, it helps you make buddies all over the world, gives you a bit of confidence, and, with the right chemistry, can turn an okay Let's Play into a magical experience of fun and laughter! But finding a co-commentator can be a bitch, make no mistake. What if you don't like them? What if they don't like you? What if, what if, what if... It kills more LP relationships before they start than disagreements over who would win in a fight between Astrotrain and the Guyver. We understand. And that's why we have this! So, er... What do we do here? Well, think of this as a sort of LP-Mart. There's folks "buying" (IE - Looking for co-comms), and folks "selling" (Folks willing to lend their beautiful voices to your endeavour!) I'll be doing what I can to keep a list of who's available and looking, so hopefully folks can have a reference for co-comms! So, without further ado, here's how it works. LOOKING FOR INTERNET SUPERSTAR, LEVEL 50 TANK (Looking) If you're looking for someone, have a browse through who's around. Then, if you don't feel anybody's really your thing, post what game you're looking to do, followed by how to get in touch, preferable timezone and availability, what voice thing you're using, and whether you want someone experienced or not with the game in question. Here, lemme give you an example. A Good-Bad Example posted:Hi, I'm SuperSentaiGarbageCollector, and I'm looking for someone Inexperienced/Foolhardy to co-comm An Unedited VLP of Agarest: Generations Of War, preferably running on Moon-Time (Available Once Per Grand Conjunction.) Must be willing to sit through four hour videos! I use AIM to voice chat in my LPs. Obviously... Do not be this person, for multiple reasons... The most important of which is you're probably not going to get a co-comm to sit through a four hour session, much less the audience. Also you'll have too much audience turnover. But I hope you get the gist. I LIKE LONG WALKS ALONG THE BEACH AND CO-COMMENTATING OVER VIDEO GAMES (Co-Comm Profile) If, on the other hand, you have too much free time on your hands (Go you!) and wish to put yourself on a general notice for Co-Commentating, here's what we need from you! Super Important Profile Stuff posted:Your Name Anything after that is sexing things up, which is all well and good! (EDIT: A good example of making your profile a lil' more useful is... Hey, link to some stuff you've commed on, co- or otherwise!) So fly free, my little LPers! Fly free and intermingle, as LP-Bot intended! FEBRUARY EDIT: Please PM me to let me know if you've found someone, so I can update the lists properly. I'll aim to update the lists twice a week. This also applies to if you want to be taken off the co-commentator list. THREAD RULE: DON'T POST UNLESS IT'S FOR ONE OF THESE TWO THINGS, THANKS MUCHLY! Another means of getting in touch would be via the (Unofficial) SA-LP Talk Discord Channel, or, as we like to call it, the SALTCastle (Link Updated as of 19 May... embarassed koff) JamieTheD fucked around with this message at 12:30 on May 19, 2018 |

This used to be for folks looking, but alas, time commitments to my reviewing no longer make this one terribly feasible to update.

Couplea notes and reminders: NOTE 1: Specialties are now noted on the Co-Comms list! If you want them edited, let me know! NOTE 2: Because LPer safety is important, I would like to remind you that you can let me know if things went harmfully south (Having interacted with a lot of folks on the list, this is not a big problem right now), so they can be... NOTE 3: ...Put on the YEAHNO LIST. If you feel you're on this list for bad reasons, let me know. But Let's Play is meant to be for entertainment and good times, even if you're shittin' on the games you're LPing. There is already a name on this list. Kindly don't expand it. And finally, the reminder. REMINDER: Let me know if you've found somebody for Co-Comms when you advertised you were looking, or if I haven't put your request on the list. I want to keep this list as up to date as possible.

NOTICE Due to moving, and the uncertainty of future internet for the near future, I will be taking a break from updating the Co-Commentation Station for a wee while. I'll do my best to get back ASAP, though, so remember to PM with updates, even while I'm orff.

Lizard Wizard posted:I don't know if it should be a guideline in the OP, but I think it'd be supremely helpful to anyone shopping for commentators if they were to post links to stuff they've been involved in. I know I'd be hesitant to reach out to a commentator without knowing what they sound like. It's good idea, and has been added to the OP as a general "Oh, hey, that's one way of sexing up said profile. " List update tomorrow, by the way.

And we're all up to date, what with me being back! Couple of things: - I appreciate the honesty of some posters. I also appreciate that "I am an rear end in a top hat" gives me fair warning that there is a higher likelihood of you being on the YEAHNO LIST . If you are aware that you are an rear end in a top hat, however, it is recommended that you take anti-assholishness measures before putting yourself up as a co-commentator. Thanks in advance. - While the Co-Commentation Station is helpful for finding others for projects, it is also helpful to know what your project is before posting a request for co-commentators. It clears up potential confusion on all sides. Again, thanks in advance. And now the nice thing: - We're approximately 30% of the way toward needing a second co-commentator list! Seriously, I hope this has helped folks network, and find cool LPing friends, and generally make things easier on y'all! As always, something you don't like about the way I've written things up, or if you've found a co-comm for your request, get in touch, and we'll see what we can do.

Hokay, all updated again, including requests to be removed from the list or struckthrough for given reasons. Reminder that if you have made a co-comm request on the OP, then please keep me updated as to their status, filled or not. I can't keep a decent set of "Co-Comm Wanted" ads if you aren't letting me know when they've been filled. I've done a bit of tidying up there, and will come back and more aggressively tidy in a week or two if nobody's telling me to keep said ads up.
