Oh hey, didn't realize this thread was still active. I guess the new game must've revitalized it. I'm kinda torn on what to do. I haven't played Siege of the Dragonspear yet and don't want to be spoiled on it by this thread, but I'm also too busy to play through it myself in the near future. Maybe someone else should make a new OP?

(note the huge python I was following for the screenshot)  yeah, thats what I thought  what gets me is that you can buy a Quill of Scribing that will write your letters for you Same way we use auto signers these days I found a dragon!   doing the stairs trick  ok, lets do this  aww yiss  a half dragon! I killed your sister like 20 minutes ago  hopelessness, she did contingency sanctuary (I think), and then died when the sanctuary ran out  my first follower, and the most faithful. she will be rewarded    what thE gently caress  did a mislead, pulled neotheliad into this room, lightning bolt and minute meteors. I think there was a priestess in here too, but she died sometime during the fight  hmm, this is an ominous door. full buffs + mislead  MIND FLAYER  you know how I do  mislead wore out, I got brainsucked. contigency improved invisibility, followed by scroll of greater restoration  while immune to all my spells, the mindflayer is highly susceptible to stabbing  this was a very  moment. I didnt have my contingency up, and the last spider kept attacking. my flameshield saved me  hai thar  yeah I have no idea what this is about. horde of huge beetles, friendly, wont talk.  Found some goblins  I feel that this was a missed opportunity. Opening the troll cages would have been hilarious  Im going through so many drat scrolls of resto  Feyrs are awesome   So I used the NPC cleric as bait  worked great  GODDAMMIT I GOT A REP POINT  Im actually surprised at how smooth this went. We destroyed the supplies and left, they didnt ambush us. More honorable than I expected.  tagged the caster before she got her spell off then it was just mop up Irenicus is the only one who really gets me  odd that there is such a wide space on the map

That's the real distance between the bridge and Dragonspear in the tabletop map. As for the beetles, I don't think you missed anything, I think Beamdog forgot to remove something related to a cut quest.

 Really diggin the dragon aesthetic  ... sure, I guess I investigated good.  Uh, Im fairly sure autonomy over your own medical treatment is a human right   prepping for the shadows  trololol, contingency: see enemy: fireball  I still have no idea what this is about  fuckin wyvryns  ignore cloudkill, ignore web, I just have to minute meteor them to death  not without its benefits though  MT 13/15  or these guys. I didnt see anything to cut them down with.  ankhegs are the best XP farms  ogres are better deal makers then humans  pull the ogres into the cloud I used earlier  deal accepted  guess I need to cast the ol' mislead  web  cloudkill  fireball and some crossbow bolts  I get the best goddamn dialogue options   and away they go  these ghosts were the most boring fight in the world. we could only crit each other, and I had healing potions and they didnt.   irenicus and I get each other  still havent found these kids  poke. poke. poke.  so I ended up kiling the elementals and the wizard both  I think their arrows have 'miscast magic' on them. Im still a better swordsperson, but it takes more time than I like  displacement and entrance spells dont work when you stay in the death cloud hon  aha, here the ogres are  I appreciate that I can sell their crap back to them  stepped out of the elevator and everything exploded  ogres shall be strong in the ranks of the new god so I guess Im still looking for where to place the poison, where to find the kids, or how to rescue the druids. bombs are placed though. I think my biggest complaint so far is the schizophrenic NPC dialogues. Sometimes I'm the hero of BG, sometimes Im the reputation 1 bhaalspawn, and sometimes Im a soldier who can be dismissed and ordered around.  Thats my motto!  I like rules lawyer dragon ghost  at this point I refuse to go anywhere without mislead cast  killing a bunch of wizards. I dont even know what they were doing, tbh  Im not sure what the deal with this druid was... but he got lit on fire anyway  Im really digging this secret fledgling vampire thing. Shows me there are lots of secrets in the game But yeah, saved a ghost dragon (somehow), rescued the kids, still looking for that thing to poison.

 A challenger appears!  this was the most ridiculously serene fight ever  we both have magic resistance and good AC  we just kept buffing/potioning/plinking at each other.  cloudkill solves everything  woah, took a wrong turn. I swear I thought I saw my guys walk into here  run away, mislead  cloudkill  hopelessness  mislead ran out  right, time to go  base! cant get me I didnt get the XP for the kill, but I stayed alive mislead, backstab etc etc  lol I just got the achievement for Thorough, you dont have any troops. that is not threshold of victory.  aww yiss conquering army  thank god, finally found a merchant  190kgp. getting there. I wonder where my 600k is though.  final boss fight. every potion. every buff. I wish you could just cut the airflow to the cavern with the portal somehow and suffocate everyone. The crusade's broken and they're cornered, and the portal can't open if I don't go in there, I read their stupid book. If she teleports out, I'll go hunt her down and won't come back until it's done, pinky swear!

Im using boots of speed, haste, potions of invisibility, potions of greater healing, scroll of restoration, and mislead to keep alive as I do so. edit: Turns out I was using the wrong sword  edit2:  good lord this fight is tedious as balls. I got the mechanics down in two minutes, and then was hitting boredom after twenty.  lol sure. Hooray for the first Dragonspear Ironman!  Neat that Caelar goes into your party if you have a slot- I had a full six so she just ran welcome interference. Did you check to see if she had a biography entry, as inappropriate as that would be?

That storyline definitely has the prequel-itis syndrome where it kind of has to force the story into the state which you start in for the next bit. I can't exactly say much about the combat but the story at least seems to have some issues.

 mayhaps a little overpowered  and then I found my bag of holding and missing 800,000 gp  gosh, never seen a doppleganger before. I feel like Buffy when she meets a vamp who doesnt know who she is  the biggest thing I have to say about this city is that people will attack you for absolutely no reason  even if its a really bad idea  slaver wizards. sure, why not  youd think theyd know I do cloudkill by now  sure, a basement with a lich in it. why not  who summons pit fiends? okay  the genie was more trouble to be honest  pulled him upstairs  then I just plinked him with meteors. I didn't even do full buffs, I think I just kept interrupting his spellcasting   another room full of spontaneous attackers. at least on the sword coast they had a bounty, you know?  you know the drill  even muggers wanted to get in on the fun  me doing investigations  solving a murder mystery. I had to do like 5 more steps than I wanted to, the game insisted I use 'due process' and not 'go to the basement like the child of murder I am'  yeah I got nuthin  room full of angry minotaurs. no, I dont know why  room full of attackers. what is it with this town?  fight outside the bar  fight inside the bar  EVERYONE just tries to attack me  clearing out the weak ones (I think this killed Hendak)  this gave me a chuckle  then a zoo. (the banter pack is giving me weird text boxes, but nothing game breaking)  sure, the sewer pack attacks me too  and... a room of myconids? what?  and a ship full of slavers  after battle heals  I can only assume that everyone in this city is actively suicidal  myth confirmed Really, this place is wild. Word of my skills have reached the shadow thieves stealing all their stuff and selling it back to them  the mission  this room gave me 20kxp or something ridiculous. picked every door and undid every trap  this guy is a total douchebag. Ive seen literal torture by literal devils in literal hell. you think you impress me?  Im a mission by your guildmaster, but sure, why not  bandits are very dumb  using mislead to steal everything  leveled up. Ive grabbed use any item, assassination, and spike traps.  stole his wand of fireballs and used it on him  I offered money, I offered threats  he was not amenable curse my sudden but inevitable betrayal! also, web  cloudkill, spell sequencer: skull trap skull trap skull trap  leveled again, got my own thieves' guild now.  know whats weird? found a mace of disruption here  I like this guy.  Now, to remove the rivals  my kind of party  keep an eye on that glabrezu  glabrezu proceeds to kick my rear end  then I started feeding him people  good job fido  walked up stairs, spell sequencer triple skull trap. stupid amounts of XP  fido is still out there  come fido!  goodbye Dorn  fido, come  fido, eat  Im just chilling in the office listening to the crunching noises  crunch crunch  crunch crunch  come fido  hope these werent questgivers or something  killing the prophet again  crunch crunch  I just keep walking out of sight and he attacks whatevers in front of him  come fido  next up  crunch crunch  fido helping me rob the dead  stay fido I honestly have no idea what happened here, but this invincible glabrezu cleared every high priest I visited. so I guess he can keep the temple district.

I dont remember these  otyugh fun  I helped!  this yaunti mage was a dick  yeah, she got stabbed  improved haste, steal the coffins, fight the golems. ran from the adamantine golem though  spectral trolls  open door, cloudkill, close door  Tor'gal was a bitch and a half to fight, I had to fall back several rooms  Lady Bhaalspawn accepts your fealty  also, Im reputation 1  we both ran out of spells, ended up just thwacking each other like barbarians  could sleep for a week

So apparently several hundred witnessses saw me lead a Glabrezu into three good Temples and slaughter everyone inside. So the council has suggested I leave town for a few days while they clean up and blame dopplegangers or something. First though...  this guy showed up claiming Bloodscalp wanted money. a ballsy move on a new guildmaster, but I wont be fooled  Bloodscalp is dead, and so is this scammer  and onto trademeet, and their escaped zoo  no idea what this guy was about  lightning bolt wasnt me, I swear  trolls, mislead, etc  helping people fight trolls  then they turned on me. more fool they  pew pew  didnt risk it this time. off screen spell sequencer  I honestly have no idea how I got in this fight, I was planning to poison them  bare knuckle boxing when one person has minute meteors is very silly  no i dont want your trees  curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal  mislead etc   a bar fight to the death that I was not involved in!  target number 7  he was a bit more prepared than I expected tbh  RUN AWAY  mislead, separate the group, and so on  and, mission complete  found a murderer  helped a lady put her skin back on  sure, Ill take your money to rob your ancestors' bones  one mantle acquired

You got into the duel because your game's fortress flags are altered. It either thinks you're a druid or all fortresses are unlocked. Thus it had to let you duel so you could claim the grove. WHERE THE gently caress DID THE LICH COME FROM  mislead, spell immunities, back to party  another lich because sure why not  (went upstairs to rest, came back down, spell immunities etc)  funny story. I gave the shade a ride across the tiles, then he attacked me. so I just walked across the tiles again  A DRAGON  since I never get the chance to do this...  triple skull trap to activate nine spike traps  honestly, the liches were worse than the shade lord and dragon  more meatshields!  sending these guys back home  yup, he still owns the temple district  these guys tried to rob me in the sewers  it got pretty wild  sweet, a minion  sure, Ill help you with your quest  a cambion prison? bring it  explosions  explosions  the warden!  time stop spell trigger spell sequencer chain contingency horrid wiltings and some other stuff  he does some chain contingencies too  fell into a pit during the fight, and they followed me out  running low on spells and hp  oh good, more mooks  getting a quiet place to rest up  time stop, horrid wiltings  will say I found that whole quest chain very surprising  LILACOR  right on man  not very smart  my screen looked like a strobe light  I like him  subtle  something something betrayal

 and then I killed everyone  shade lich included. well, since I have all the parts, lets do kangaxx  prep  spike traps kill the first form  time stop speed casting and every spell I have  and swords to finish  killing some clerics while Im still buffed  I guess lets do the twisted rune  pulled the assassin and the lich, death cloud and meteors did most the work  popped the corner for the beholder and vampire. used shield of balduran and daystar  at some point a dispel got all my buffs, and we are both using time stop  she gates in a pit fiend, I hit her with horrid wilting  improved haste and boots of speed mean I can run and cast no problem  plinking him with 10 meteors a round  and, done  MT 19/26  then I killed some paladins  already killed everyone in the radiant heart temple, so Im not worried  dont think I laughed so hard all week. I dont think my rep has been above 4 since I left candlekeep hon  web cloudkill got them. weak sauce all around  and then he walked into the deathcloud and got aggro I am the best hero pew pew  at this point I just leave the AI on and walk around  it might have been overkill to summon a dark planetar to fight the adamantine golem  and a room full of vampires and mummies  and a room of shadows  but who am I to say? this orc seemed amenable  I have fire prot on, I wanted the option to jump on the grill
