Do you think the octogenarians who read newspapers will understand it enough to write angry letters?

I haven't seen Intelligent Life posted here in a long time. I guess I'll help us catch up a little.

Starting 2/29, here's the first half of the carpool arc, and the sunday strip.

So I was thinking about posting these daily, with some other strips to pad out the content of my posts. But my Imgur plug-in stopped working because they ended API 1.0 support and that broke it. Does anybody know of any other Firefox extension I could use so I could rehost images with just a right click? Having to save them to my hard drive and upload manually feels like an unnecessary step.

I had the same problem, and something called Rehost Image is working fine for me.

Thanks! This gets the job done.

I saw it has some resize options that could be useful, and I was thinking of setting them to the largest size you're allowed to post. However, it looks to me like the forum rules haven't been updated since 2006, and the official word is you shouldn't post images larger than 800x600 pixels. Almost every comic in this thread breaks one if not both of those dimensions. Is there some unofficial rule, guideline or recommendation regarding file size I should abide by? Or should I just post everything in timg tags?

And now, introducing Dark Side of the Horse

wikipedia posted:

Dark Side of the Horse (Finnish: Musta hevonen, "the black horse") is a Finnish comic strip, written and drawn by the comics artist Samson (Samuli Lintula). The strip features the horses Horace (Heikki, a steed) and Melody (Helka, a mare), and the bird Sine (Sini). In North America, the strip is syndicated by the Royal Comics Syndicate.
I got to know this strip when it appeared in one of the free newspapers that was dumped through my mailslot once a week. At first I thouhgt it fell flat, but it does some clever things with the comic format once in a while.

And now, Take It From the Tinkersons. This is what replaced Cul de Sac in papers, right? Maybe it's time to re-evaluate it.

(Rehost Image was giving me a lot of grief. Seems like I can only upload one image per minute or so, or it'll only generate a new link for the image I last uploaded.)

Some comics use their extra sunday space to have more panels or more elaborate art.

Intelligent Life has fewer panels.

And now, this week's Fort Knox

gocomics posted:

Fort Knox chronicles the life of a military family: Dad, Major Joe Knox; Mom, Jane Knox; and their two boys, Donald and Wesley. The family has picked up and moved * again * thousands of miles from family and friends to take up residence at Joe's new assignment at Fort Lincoln. Donald and Wesley have moved before, but that doesn't make it any easier on them. They must face down new bullies, master a new school system and new teachers, and navigate a new community. Added to these pressures is the distance the move puts between them and their beloved grandmother, who's a known troublemaker if not a known felon (yet). On top of all that, there's the strain that military life puts on their parents' otherwise happy marriage.

WeaponGradeSadness posted:

Fort Knox makes me sad because there's a lot of humor and drama to be mined from life in a military family so it could have been something really great but instead it's just poorly-drawn generic garbage that 99% of the time doesn't even do anything with the military setting except maybe the dad and his work friends will be wearing uniforms instead of a tie or whatever when they make the same lame jokes as every other tepid family sitcom.

Unless people want me to keep posting Fort Knox, I may stop the next time there's a strip where nobody is making the bug-eyed, shocked expression in the last panel.

Just for fun, you can browse the gocomics archives backwards until you find one such strip or you lose your mind, whichever comes first.
