i haven't played the whole game, but pawns seem useful for drawing fire from enemies in addition to buffs. i liked having two beefy warrior pawns, a mage, and then my ranger.

Does it normally take ten minutes to kill an ogre i did that quest and had an escort NPC with me. i thought to myself 'escort NPCs are probably invincible." but an ogre smashed the poo poo out of them while my back was turned (unfortunately the last loving ogre, but whatever) and it turns out that they are not invincible. the npc respawned in the main city and was pissed off at me and i failed the quest, lol
