to get the dpad to work you need to install ds4windows and have it running. that fakes an xinput controller. i've seen a couple screenies that show ds4 button prompts tho in the steam version idk how to do that

 alright here's how to get the annoying flickinging gone and psx button prompts if you're using a ds4 https://www.reddit.com/r/DragonsDogma/comments/41anhe/question_about_ds4_controller_using_ds4windows/cz0yyas do this. works 4 me. i'm using the ds4windows program, not input mapper idk if that makes a difference.
