I know this isn't really the kind of show where I should be worrying about this, but the premise is really confusing to me. So they invented anti-gravity shoes. And they're cheap enough to mass produce? But they only work around these few islands? Even though they only work here, there's a whole sport based around using them? But even though there's a whole sport based around using them, this island has normal towns and schools, instead of just being one giant play area for the mega-rich?
