Nobody move and nobody gets hurt.

Dammit, right as Monty slammed on the brakes toward the end my local station decided to go to a 5-minute news break about how it's going to snow. Anyone care to summarize what I might have missed?

I do enjoy how this show loves setting up coups and then just blowing them up immediately, whether it's the Ice Queen or the ex-Chancellor who stole the drop ship.

How can they learn when they are dead.

Didn't you see the look in Emerson's eyes, just before they started streaming with blood? That was a look of true and complete understanding.

Clarke has at least mastered the "play dead, then attack" maneuver. Used it against Roan, and in the initial fight with Emerson.

That slow version of that song was loving horrible.

Episode was great though, even with the Jesus Kane mashup.

I predict next ep starts with him spitting out the chip? Idk I feel they already did the "take the chip cause you're under duress" thing with Abby, you know?

I don't think he could really fake taking the chip, since Allie would notice that he wasn't connected to her and she couldn't access his mind.

ALIE has gotten really grotesquely brutal lately. The crucifixes, the waterboarding, it's a little hosed up.

She learned so much from Jaha :(

I still don't understand how chipped people got on the rig in the first place.

I think the drones followed Clarke and the gang to the rig, and then once they knew where it was and who the shore parties were they found them, chipped them, and had them do the rest

Would Jasper have worked better instead of Bellamy? I know he's not as an important a character as Bellamy but his motivation would've been a lot better than "fridged girlfriend".

It's been a slightly longer time, but Jasper's motivation for pretty much everything seems to be "fridged girlfriend."

How long are they even planning on living in those ships! And what's to stop them all turning into Mountain Men, mark II?

(Also, the writers must have some other plan in mind to resolving this crisis -- I can't see Season 5 being set after a 100 year time jump, or being set entirely inside the downed spaceships, no matter how much money they'd be able to save on exteriors.)

I think they were tossing around 5 years as the amount of time they'd need to live in the ships. Not sure where they got that, but it stuck out to me when they said it.

Their plan was to take the machine and petition Roan to free their people, but then they got that note from the little girl saying they were being moved the next day. Given that the one woman had no idea Roan was even back in the picture, it's unlikely that these were mainstream Asgeda folks who could be easily located even if Roan were inclined to make them surrender the slaves. It was a dumb decision, but one that makes sense for Bellamy's character.

Not putting an escort on the stranger is one of the most confusingly dumb choices made on this show.

They were apparently so hard up for soldiers at the choke point that they had to send PTSD Guy, so there may just not have been any spare guns or trained people to do the job. Plus all they knew about him was that he was an innocent-looking kid who saved their friend.

So the season finale is next week?

Anyway this last episode:

- I really like what they did with Octavia. I think she would have made a good leader or at least have a good shot at it because she seemed to understand that you need to make hard calls sometimes even if it means murdering "your" people. Was a nice touch to show her almost crying to herself on several occasions. Plus she absolutely made the call to do it without wavering back and forth like Clark or the rest of them would do. Jesus she was about to murder all 364 or whatever people in that room :stare:.

I think the "Octavia makes the hard calls" thing was undercut a little by the Nyla situation. "Skaicru, hurry up and pick your survivors. Hey, stop being mean to that person who isn't one of you but is kind of my friend, now she gets one of your spots! Also my brother definitely gets one."

As we know from the expanse growing up on a asteroid has dire consequences on physical ability, but this will be conveniently ignored of course.

Well theoretically the same issues would affect all of Skaikru, so it's kind of a wash.
