WALKTHROUGH PART 1 (Thanks Gosts) By far the hardest fight in Republican Primaries 2016 is Ted Cruz. I've never seen so many people get stuck on a battle. That's why I've made this walkthrough specifically to help everyone. First things first, if you've already saved your game in Texas, and you don't have the stuff in this guide, i'm sorry, but it's too late. After you enter Texas, there's no way to exit until you beat cruz, so if you missed any essential items or party members, there's no way to win. You can still grind the canadian immigrants outside Cruz's lair if you're underleveled, though, so if you have party members under the rank of neurosurgeon (that's what i recommend for the fight, MINIMUM) you can at least fix that and try again before you restart the game from the beginning. So, tips before you start. Other than being appropriate rank, I recommend having the party lineup of Trump, Christie, Rubio. Fourth party member does not really matter as long as they have DPS. If you have no idea what to do for a fourth, use Paul if you already completed his story quest and killed Ron, or, if you haven't done that, use Carson. If you don't have either, then it REALLY doesn't matter, as long as you don't use Walker. Trump is going to be taunting and soaking up most of the damage. If you didn't get enough gold to give to Trump to add him to your party you basically lose the game, because nobody else can absorb Cruz's hits and you can't cheese the game with the 9/11 skip. Christie is good because he can absorb even more damage than Trump, but he doesn't have the taunt ability. Still, if your party gets AoEd, sometimes Christie has juuuust enough body fat left to keep from getting killed and he can revive the rest of the party. Rubio is a no-brainer because the Sword of Chiang Kai-Shek is the best DPS in the game and gives amazing party buffs, and nobody else can use the sword but Rubio. Ok, so enough pre-combat stuff. For the actual fight you have a few free turns to either cast buffs or start doing damage while Cruz buffs himself. Every fight, first three turns he'll cast Keep the Promise I, II, and then III. Here's the most important part. DO NOT REMOVE HIS BUFFS. If you debuff cruz, he casts Re-ignite the Promise, which has the effects of all three, PLUS health regen, and you can never remove it. This is what fucks most people up. Other than that, the fight is pretty straightforward. Taunt with Trump, keep Christie at full health, deal damage with Rubio and whoever your 4th is. As long as you follow these instructions, you should win the election. Edit 1: Ok, some smartass keeps PMing me saying that Jeb can also use the Sword of Chiang Kai-Shek. WHILE THIS IS TRUE, if you EVEN HAVE JEB IN THE PARTY, you'll never even go to texas and fight Cruz. Instead of fighting Fiorina at the executive's office in chapter 4, you go to the prairie chapel ranch and get the Jeb! Ending. So no, you can't use him if you want to actually finish the game. PART 2 (Thanks Me) Also if you use a GameGenie you can get H.W. in your party even though Clinton killed him in the prequel. He can dual wield Chang's Blade and Desert Shield and he's basically unstoppable. Barring that, remember that you'll have to face Queen Clinton on the 3rd disc. NOTE: YOU CAN ONLY RETAIN TWO PARTY MEMBERS FOR THIS. I heavily recommend Trump and the hidden character Webb. You can find Webb in Cooper's Lair if you backtrack all the way to Act I on the first disk. Deny Chafee 3 times and he'll sulk away, find the pillbox on the far side of the screen and engage Webb who will be wounded. Offer him [Charlie's Tears] and he will rejuvenate and join you, but only if you have Trump alone in your party. From there, return to the final disc and engage Clinton. Use Webb's counterattack on any Gender Cards She throws and make sure Trump uses Invoke Record on cooldown. It's not a hard fight but make sure every time she disappears not to attack while she is offscreen or you will activate several Gender Cards that not even Webb can counter. Good luck!

Help, help! I can't beat Mega-Bernie. Every time I do damage to him he counters with Single-Payer and goes right back up to full. Not to mention when he uses Socialist Candidate to drop my rhetoric damage output to nil and splits my party in half with Independent Run. Edit: And Donald Trump is worse than useless! Every time I use /pol/ his Bernouts counter with forum spam.

[ JIM GILMORE ]------------------------------------------------------- Jim Gilmore is an optional boss that most players will miss on their first playthrough, and for good reason as he is one of the most challenging boss fights in the entire game. There are two ways to encounter Gilmore depending on who you picked as your candidate. If you chose Walker, Christie, Kaisich or Rubio it's possible to trigger the encounter in the game's opening prologue by simply passing a car tax, however this is HIGHLY discouraged as your low-level party members will all be killed by Gilmore in the first turn. The other route to encounter Gilmore and the only one accessible to most candidates comes after Super Tuesday. All you have to do is buy the Thermal Goggles, which will be available for purchase from the merchant outside of the RNC HQ. Remember the strange boarded up house that you saw back in Virginia? You need to backtrack there and enter the room full of mirrors in the top left of the second floor. Watch the special cutscene with Reince Preibus, make sure you've saved your game and EQUIP the Thermal Goggles on any member of your party to begin the fight with Gilmore. BOSS FIGHT: JIM GILMORE JimGilmore [Lvl. 93, 6666HP, 666 PAC] Unlike most boss fights in the game, there is no set up or strategy that will allow you to weaken Gilmore beforehand. No debuffs work on him and he also has complete resistance to all forms of elemental damage, meaning the only thing that matters in this battle is pure physical DPS. It's a good idea to visit EVERY diner you can on the campaign trail and to max out your SuperPACs before you begin this battle. Bring as many healing items as you can.. For party composition Rubio and his excellent Sword of Chiang is a great choice, as always. If you managed to save Graham back in South Carolina he can be an invaluable asset in this fight. "Functioning Alcoholic" is the strongest AoE heal in the game and the fact that it also buffs for reduced damage is just gravy on top of that. Christie and Trump make great Tanks with substantial high physical DPS but don't become too over reliant on Taunt, as Gilmore will start to ignore it if it's used more than once. Do NOT use Cruz for this fight, Gilmore has complete immunity to the toxic damage Backstab and SlimeBall do, making them worthless against him. Gilmore's main attack is very high damage but if you've properly buffed your party and have your SuperPACs up and running, you should be able to survive multiple rounds of attacks. Just keep spamming "Functional Alcoholic" or healing with your tank. By far the biggest problem is doing enough damage to Gilmore in the time limit before the Thermal Goggles batteries run out. If the batteries on the Thermal Goggles run out, Gilmore will once again become completely invisible and the party will be unable to attack him. You can send an aide to get more batteries, but it will take three turns during which time Gilmore will be able to heal, attack and use his devastating PuppetMaster attack which will temporarily cause one of your party members to switch sides. If you can't kill Gilmore in the first 10 turns then it's likely going to come down to blind luck and hoping Gilmore doesen't A) wipe out your party or B) heal himself three times in a row back to full health. For this reason, it's highly recommended you unload as many of your highest damage attacks in the first few turns, don't concern yourself with how much PAC money it'll cost. Even if you can't take him down, if you're lucky he won't heal himself completely and will instead spam PuppetMaster which should expire after two turns, and in this way you be able to whittle him down. After Gilmore is dead, take a deep breath, relax and save your game. You can pick up the invisibility cloak off his corpse, but be aware that if you equip it on any party members you will be unable to unlock the true ending.

Is Walker supposed to die during Disc One? I've been hacking and hacking the game, and obviously there's a spot for him in the battle against Hillary in November. I left a lot of good items on him and he was carrying 20m gil... BUG REPORT: When Piyush Jindal joins the party, it gives me the option to change his name. I usually go by default names but when I do it here, BSoD.

Known Bugs and Issues (As of the Jan 2016 release): -Contrary to in-game flavor text, Carson does not possess the Animal Friendship (Bear) skill. -Sometimes Rubio refuses to perform any actions on his turn, regardless of his energy level. This bug has been acknowledged by the developer, but there is speculation that it will not be fixed until the 2020 release. Workaround: pair him with Jeb (which is also necessary for Rubio to gain access to the Sword of Chiang) and his irritation will eventually prompt him to take action. -Rubio's excessive water consumption has been confirmed as intentional by the developer, and is not a bug. -Previous releases contained aggressive anti-cheat measures designed to forcibly remove hacked characters from the game prior to the Primary stage's completion, and many players have reported issues with legitimate but nontraditional characters in the past. It is not yet known whether this code is still present in the Jan 2016 release. -A pre-release version of Lawrence Lessig was present in early versions of the game, but no abilities were implemented and the character has since been removed. This may cause bugs for players who had Lessig in their party, but the developer has indicated that they estimate the impact to the overall playerbase to be minimal. -Joe Biden will not be made a playable character in the 2016 release. Please stop asking.

code:***** IVANKA TRUMP ***** The daughter of the Donald and a child of the elder blood, Ivanka is the most common first romance for Trump players. You'll find her on the 46th floor of the Trump Tower. This romance is fairly easy to keep going early in the game. Divorce as soon as possible, and if you've put points into the charm tree, use the 'Massage' sign when it's an option. The key quest for Ivanka is of course the plot to find her mother (Ivana Trump from the 2nd game). NOTE THAT EVEN IF YOU KILLED IVANA IN PART TWO, SHE WILL STILL REAPPEAR IN THIS QUESTLINE!!! (Another really cool twist by Reagan that I won't spoil here). In fact, getting her to support your Campaign is one of the only ways to get the Page 6 scroll. Anyway, the quest is pretty easy (level 5 Trumps with 1 debate under them should do fine), but there is one key piece of dialogue that a lot of first time players mess up: (After the Rosie O'Donnell attack): Ivanka: "Do you think my mother's still alive?" (CHOOSE THIS OPTION)To Ivanka: "If I weren't happily married, and ya know, your father..." Ivanka: What are you talking about? (CHOOSE THIS OPTION) To Ivanka: "I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.” Ivanka: "Who are you talking to? There's no one else here." (CHOOSE THIS OPTION) To Ivanka: “All of the women on The Apprentice flirted with me — consciously or unconsciously. That’s to be expected.” This will initiate the fun :-) cut scene. If you want to "visit" Ivanka again, there will then be a Heart icon on the 50th floor of the Trump Tower (her location moves after she gets promoted to VP at the end of the Ivana questline). If Trump avoids romancing Ivanka and instead attempts to woo Hillary or Kelly during the mission 'The Final Schlong', Ivanka will still support your campaign. Speaking of Jeb, I hear there's a secret ending for a Jeb-only challenge run. Now, this in mind, I'm not sure it's actually possible. because you need to have Gampy in your party to receive the sword of Chiang, which is his only real source of DPS. I think you can get it by fighting Rubio instead, but given Jeb's low energy growth I think you'd have to grind up delegates and by the point you can go after him the game's already half-over.

My understanding is that it's currently impossible to get all of the Jeb-related achievements in this game. They were intended to be a special reward for those who have played through all of Bush dynasty storyline in the previous games, but the programmers screwed up and some flags relating to events that occurred during the '00 and '04 iterations won't get properly set regardless of what you did with Dubya on the save you're trying to import. As a consequence the events in this game are hardcoded to be in a state where there's no way to legitimately do a full Jeb-only run.

Could someone write-up a summary of how to use the cross-play feature between 2016 Primary Red and Blue? I got Blue and my brother got Red for Christmas and supposedly there is some cool stuff that unlocks if you play together, but thus far I can't find it. My brother says that Fiorina has new abilities on her list relating to Hilary, but they don't seem to have any effect so we think maybe this thing is buggy or you have to do a special quest on Fiorina.

I am playing as Trump and doing really well in the polls. The biggest problem is that I can't unlock the gold armor because I don't have enough legitimacy points because one of the in-game websites keeps giving me bad marks for not having any endorsements. What kind of nerds made this game and anyone know of a work around? Thanks.

I'm trying to go for the Eudaimonia ending, and after defeating Clinton in the prelude, I'm now playing as Bernie. I've gotten the first two polls to flip, but I'm not sure what to do next? I've gotten Clinton's credibility to start falling but the stupid Pundits are refusing to budge and the IdPol's keep being smug. But I don't think smugness matters for the ending. Any Tips?

It's a meta-joke about elections so don't worry about it. But the developers have hinted that in the future they might combine the red/blue games into one, and release a new game but we don't have any details yet. Obviously lots of the same characters in both the Blue and Red versions would appear in the Blue/Red game though they'd probably be minor characters with exceptions of Hillary or Trump etc.

Thanks. hm thats weird. you should really have gotten Crush the Establishment! with him by now, which lets him ignore endorsements. i assume youre speccing into the populism tree and have taken George Wallace as your guardian force? you might have accidentally sequence-broken at some point; Trump is hella OP so its easy to beat bosses before the game thinks you should be able to. make sure youve beaten Jeb at Las Vegas and the Lost Library of Emperor Reaganicus Exsuperatoris, those events are a little buggy. if that doesnt work, post a dump of your character file and we can see if it has the right event flags enabled. paranoid randroid has issued a correction as of 20:00 on Jan 15, 2016 |

Bug report, I'm still in chapter 1 where the cutscene's supposed to play introducing Trump, but whenever I go to talk to the little grey wizard who triggers it he just bounces around the screen and I get warped back to the top of the moving staircase. Also I found those glasses for Perry but they don't seem to boost his stats like the description says.

Trump's standard armor might not have a particularly good AC, but it has so many immunities and that's much more important until far into the end game.

I'm having some real difficulty with the Hillary bossfight. Now, the walkthrough recommends that I spam Benghazi at her, but I was doing that for twelve hours last night and it just seemed to do less and less damage. I've heard that Micheal Bay can really boost it if you get him early on, but every time I try the Opening Night quest he gets afflicted with Something Awful and there seems to be no way to get rid of it as far as I can tell.

I put Huckabee in my party as part of a challenge run and you can't even grind effectively with him because he has an unskippable animation that's really long and drawn out whenever he kills a boar.

Welp looks like I completely hosed my save game. I was running a Trump, Cruz and Jeb party, which everyone says is a bad idea but the Slimeball + Sleazeball + Moneyball combo is insane. Well now I know why people say that. Turns out Ted Cruz will automatically betray you at the end of disc 3, and Jeb will kill himself if you neglect to do the "Save Gampy!" quest, as I did (if you do this you can get the dark sword of Chang which everyone can use, even Trump). I also sacrificed every other party member to the Reaganomicon to get the dark lord's blessing, so now I have to finish the game solo Edit: wow it turns out that if you end up without enough characters the game fills your party with Rince Priebus homunculi, neat babypolis has issued a correction as of 22:14 on Jan 15, 2016 |

I'm playing with the Canchurian Candidate mod and I can't get Cruz to obey his programming. Every time I try to activate him he just mutters something about New York values and looks smug.

It's a nice touch that they put Palin on the load screens. She was the Caith Sith of Campaign 2008 (BEST CAMPAIGN GAME EVER).

Hey can someone help me with the Nikki Haley fight before the main boss? Her defense is through the loving roof thanks to her Iron Jaw skill and nothing seems to debuff it, even Trump's "Unwelcome Comeon" skill doesn't do jack. I can't crit her and unless I go back and level grind Super Tuesday for like 50 hours I won't get my delegate rate high enough and poo poo I don't wanna do that. I'm really tempted to buy the Shelden Adelson DLC just to get past this but I've blown enough money in losing efforts already. Someone please help! p.s. any truth to the rumor that Michelle might be coming as a raid boss? Her "Gun Show" attack in the last edition gave me more fits than I can ever remember.

Unlocking Paul Ryan Like most of the nonstandard unlockable Republicans, you must reach the end of the Republican Primary stage without either (a) losing any of your party members in the Trump fight, including Trump himself or (b) leveling any of them into the Candidate prestige classes. This has a chance of triggering the special Brokered Convention boss fight, for which most characters, including those normally unavailable to your party, can be selected. However, there is one additional step required to make Ryan available. You must get the Boehner Retires ending during the Papal Visit subquest. This will make Ryan available as a potential player character, though he can still only be unlocked during the Brokered Convention fight. While Ryan does not have any particularly noteworthy abilities, having him and Rand in the same party during the Convention fight is the only way to unlock the Atlas Shrugged achievement.

So this glitch only works with Jeb! who I know alot of people dont like using but if you put a bit of time into this he can actually be competitive imo. Do it now too cause it will probably be fixed in the nest patch. Infinite PAC and Donations With just Jeb! in your party, visit The Smokey Backroom or The $10000 Plate Fundraiser or anywhere you can find an Establishment aligned Donor. Ask them for PAC or a donation, whatever you prefer, talk to them again and you get the usual dialogue about reaching contribution limit but Jeb! gets an additional option, pick "Bush" and they will give you more no matter how low your poll numbers. Now exit the room and call Bush Sr, you get the usual disappointed speech but skip through, Jeb! takes a HP hit but he cant die until the South Carolina suicide event anyway. Reenter and talk to the Donor again and the "Bush" option wont be greyed out anymore, you can do it over and over! E. Okay so doing this has broken my save, I just got through Iowa and Jeb! is stuck at 100% Market Saturation so now when I use Ads his POLL just goes down and Establishment aligned Donors will only give to Rubio which sucks cause I dont have any waters going into the North Hampshire fight... Does anybody know how to get the achievement for convincing Chris Christie that he wasn't actually a 9/11 first responder, and instead was in New Jersey? Every time I initiate that dialogue, he attacks my party. Edit: Setting Ben Carson as the primary character started a cutscene where he calmed Christie down with his Gifted Hands®.
