StandardVC10 posted:How the heck do I get the Metric Mayhem achievement? I mean, I get how, it's just that Lincoln Chafee's class abilities are so weak I have no idea how I'll beat the endgame with him. I think the Six Kilometers to the Border sidequest has something to do with it, but the only way of getting that I've read anywhere is to grind fundraisers in Arizona (pretty tough for a weak democrat character early-game) until the RNG gives you Tucson. At that point, based on the direction of the shadows outside the hotel ballroom window and the time on the clock, you have to exit through the southward-facing door, which will put you on I-19. the Minutemen can be tough for an early-game Chafee character but I the Sin Papeles sidequests can help move up the Sanctuary City tree anyway when you see the "Intl Border 6 km" sign you need to rest. when the work crew shows up, stop them from replacing the sign, which turns a bunch of locals friendly. Looking at the files I think that boosts your cred with the usual liberal audiences but even the Hannity crowd and rural libertarians! it seems like that would open up a couple options. those locals you turn friendly are really useful in western land disputes, which if i'm understanding the mechanics correctly would let you use them as a multiplier with your Satyagraha defense to defuse the Bundy Massacre sideplot, and at that point you should be OP for the early-to-mid debates. I couldn't do it though when i tried it before the Las Vegas debate I always rolled Maricopa county and ran into Joe Arpaio who literally enslaved me and the maluses you get at the debate seem like they would make it even harder. I've been trying to get the pacifist achievements, personally, but I don't think you progress on any of the Chafeechievements without the bonuses you get from the other ones - tough to get Satyagraha without surviving the grenade attack from Jim Webb, for example. oystertoadfish has issued a correction as of 06:16 on Jan 20, 2016 |

It's tricky. You have to have an Election 2008 save in your '16 folder. That save needs a flag where you let Detroit go bankrupt. In your '16 game, head to Motor City. If you can get past the lead addled urchin hordes to the Ford plant you can use a Tear of Palin to resurrect Ford (who died trying to build the ultimate Habitat in the World of Ruin timeline). Be prepared for a boss fight, Ford and the USMB. The USMB is actually pretty easy, just make sure to use AoE. Ford otoh has all the standard Presidential immunities so come prepared. If you take too long he'll resurrect his SS detail. Anyway, once you beat the fight you'll have a cutscene and get Chaffee's Mil-limiter Limit Break which is very powerful. Each attack subtracts 1/1000th of all enemies stats. Globally. Now obviously you could go farm trash mobs until you've used your limit break a thousand times (which is actually an easy way to get the STUMPABLE achievement) but you're better off just playing through.

Its cool that they brought Palin back, I know alot of people like her. Im getting a bug or something though where all her dialogue goes by too fast to read and what I can read makes no sense, anyone else getting this? Its day one I know but still, maybe some game testing wouldnt have been a bad idea?

I know it's a pain in the rear end to keep him alive through the Undercard Gauntlet, but has anyone tried holding onto Jindal for his Exorcism skill? In the Greatest Hits bonus dungeon, Exorcism would be a one-hit kill against Vince Foster, Ghost Chair Obama and Hologram Will.I.Am. But I'm more interested in its ability to remove Curse effects from artifacts and allies. Could you Purify the Secret Sword of Dark Chiang without sacrificing Gampy? Reassign Christine O'Donnell from her garbage 'Witch' class? Would W. be a viable character if you removed the "Ghosts of 10,000 Iraqi Children" effect? What about Boehner and his "Latent Catholic Guilt?" curse? And of course, Exorcism would be a huge help in the Gay Conversion Therapy minigame. And this theory might be a little out there... everyone knows the data for Shining Judgment SAINT Reagan+ is in the game, but no one's figured out how to unlock him. Has anyone tried Exorcism on the Hungry Revenant ONRYō Reagan secret boss...?

I know most people who use Christie roll a "Slim Chris" build, but I'm getting some pretty good results from the Man Mammoth buffs you can get if you go the other direction. Plus his character model clips through door frames now and that's just funny.

I just have to say that as much hate as Carson gets on here, he is actually pretty good to have in your party for some of the mid to early endgame. Just spam Stump Speech and you can pretty much put the entire enemy party to sleep after a few casts. This is a great time to level up your Ultimates since the enemy can't attack, basically grinding while in a battle, really cool.

It's pretty useful as is for knocking out early level GOP State Senators, but with a little boost it could be useful against delegates as well if you're trying a Pacifist run.

Steam Review: 0/5 The 2016 release is basically a slap in the face of longtime fans of the series, throwing out time-tested mechanics in favor of wackiness and memes. The overpowered Trump character is a case in point, but he's hardly the only problem. None of these characters have the compelling writing or mechanics seen in past releases and don't even get me started on the SJW nonsense. I mean I come on, Hillary as a candidate? Gay Republicans? Literal socialists? The forgotten Bush brother? What's next, bringing back the horrible Palin character from 2008? Vote with your wallet for something else and send a message to those fatcat developers and the corrupt journalistic community that we still respect quality. #watergate #followthemoney #makegamesgreatagain

I know Trump is easy-mode, but I've been having a problem with his Dog-Whistling backfire % chance. It's over 5%, which is a pain in some of the New England states. I've done the joint Jeb/Rand Kill You're Parents subquest in hopes of finding the Guitar of Atwater in GHWB's lair, but the chest stays locked no matter what. Is there an alternate solution? If you import a 2000 save where Gore wins, you'll get an extra cutscene. Jeb refuses to dump the ballots at the Fakahatchee Strand State Preserve and drives them back to Miami. (He was going to fight Katherine Harris but nobody statted Jeb). If Gore wins, you get access to a lot of achievements: "Cool World" is if you pass meaningful Global Warming legislation, "Mr. Tennessee Fun-Fun" when you do Colbert (he becomes a fake Democrat!), and "I can change the future" when you beat Lavos. McCain automatically gets the nom in 2004 (and he's tough) but if Gore wins and you have Prescott Pack, you'll get the Brother vs. Brother scene. George and Jeb beat the poo poo out of each other at the skybox of Globe Life Park. George will say "Gonna use a bat on me, fatty John?" You have two optons and if you pick wrong, you get Wuss Jeb. >"Mom said be nice George." >USE THE BAT.

RNG always fucks me over when I played Trump (which is why I've been experimenting with a Rubio/Walker apathy-based build. It's a little boring but really OP as long as you keep downplaying every event). Like, don't get me wrong in 99% of Trump-center plays he wrecks the poo poo out of bosses, but it's kind of dumb that the Dog-Whistle is hard-coded to ALWAYS work on Muslims and Mexican-type enemies, but backfires if you use it on And you're right, that completely dicks you over in places like Vermont and Mass. primaries. You simply can't reliably get the 100% Primary cheevo with Trump because of it, but it's hard as poo poo to nail places like the Carolinas without him. If anyone figures it out, please let me know so I can go back to enjoying Trump builds. Edit: gently caress! I figured it out, and it's actually really clever on the part of the devs. Basically Trump's initial trait "Unstumpable" has a percentage chance to backfire because it's not even Trump's best trait, which is absolutely bonkers given it's the best trait any character starts with. Basically, you need to evolve "Unstumpable" to "Gloriously Unstumpable", which makes all Dog-Whistle attacks, even ones used on the party, to do full polls damage to the enemy. Every time. You basically can't lose the game at all when you unlock it (Feel the Bern, however, makes it so all poll damage just makes Bernie stronger. Be cafeful) Here's how you get it. -You can't get "Gloriously Unstumpable" in any of the Jeb!/Fiorina/Oprah romance routes. If at any point Jeb! slips Trump a mickey, you've screwed up the unlock and have to reload from an earlier save. -You need to be on the route to unlock the scene where Cruz hangs himself after the Iowa primary, but you can't have either: Found the body, or looted the body (I'm not sure, but to be safe just avoid it or do this before Iowa) -You have to defeat Walker during the tournament arc in 3 turns or less (not difficult unless his PAC is maxed out) Once the above conditions are met, head to the door to Trump Tower for a scene where Trump gets a photo-op with an eagle (it says the Eagle joins your party, but he just occasionally attacks on the same turn as Trump) With the photo-op finished, buy the most expensive combover in Manhattan (The Golden Coif. The Matted Coif has higher defenses, so it's a bit of a trade off). The eagle and the coif together give Trump "Gloriously Unstumpable". Not only does it make every attack Trump uses be super effective and eliminate all backfires, it also lets you use "Make America Great Again" at half cost. If you're not playing for the dumb romance subplots, there's really no reason not to do this quest line.

It's far from difficult, even after the Trump nerf, provided you switch him to party leader afterwards and don't switch back until AFTER the climax of Act 2 Disk 1 ('Super Tuesday'). Provided Trump has chosen 'How stupid are you' as his response to the Carsonmentum event his Xpectation bar should be low enough that the loss won't be deadly. Moving forward, he'll be able to use his 'Long Line of Loosers' attack on whoever wins Iowa; if the Iowa winner has Huckabee or Santorum equipped as familiars this will make the attack 1.5x as damaging (2.5x if both!). As long as Trump is party leader when you beat New Hampshire and your turnout percentage is higher than 70% Trump should get more than enough narrative points to crush the Iowa winner in SC and NV easily, and from there you just have to not screw up at the end of Act 2. Act 3 will be a cakewalk given how over-leveled Trump will be at this point; an establishment candidate might be able to initiate the Convention Ratfuck* special event but if you've been playing mostly as Trump and gotten to this point Priebus and Ryan will have some pretty heavy debuffs so those boss fights shouldn't be too tough. That doesn't even matter for you because Cruz has 0 chance of triggering that event and actually has about the same chance of being the target of it if he's in the lead. At that point the path through Disc 2 is pretty much the same whether or not you beat Iowa as Trump or not. *This event sounds scary to people who have more experience playing the Democrat faction, but the Republican convention mechanics are way easier on outsider candidates so don't worry about this so much.

The devs introduced it in the last patch to nerf Rubio's otherwise overpowered "Attack-"Pivot"-"Stump Speech" combo, you can't spam that anymore when you're maining him or he'll get destroyed by a high Speech character.

Gaaaaaaah! I thought Trump was supposed to be easy mode, but I've screwed up really badly somehow! What do I do next? I figured I was a shoo-in for Iowa, since I made sure my Populist Appeal bar was higher than any other candidate (except maybe Sanders, but who cares about him for now lol). But the caucus put me in second! I figured, okay, no biggie, it's probably just because Cruz is a Rank S+ Evangelical. I have a spare Temper Tantrum in my inventory, I'll just use it to pick all the dialogue options in the Iowa Fallout conversation. I tried "Iowa picks losers", "It was all a scam by Cruz", and "Who cares? I'm still Unstumpable", but the other characters' reactions didn't seem very positive. Then I noticed my Media Points and Internet Support meters were bombing! Now there's only one day left before NH. Is there anything left I can do, or am I doomed in this run? Also, minor question: I think I triggered a glitch involving Jeb!. Every single one of his Popularity Gauges is at zero, INCLUDING Primary Votes, and the "Please Clap" cutscene normally plays after he drops out, but for some reason, his HP doesn't want to go below 1. I keep getting stuck in an eternal feedback loop. All the candidates use "Deflect" -> "Blame Obama" for every question during the debate rounds, which then triggers Rubio to use "Dispel" and builds up enough aggro for Christie to attack Rubio, but then the candidates just go back to that first pattern and the whole thing repeats itself. The debate just turns into a long slog of attrition. Is there a way to end it faster?

Dispel gets rid of the effects even thought they're invisible, but there's a way to prevent Rubio from casting it automatically. Rubio can't cast Dispel (or anything else) when he has the "Dehydrated" debuff, so get rid of all the Imported Water in his inventory and he won't be able to dispel the status effects.

Do I need to romance Pataki first, or is this part of the Secret Cruz Scenes they hinted at in the last teaser? edit: Weird.
