I really hope that none of the nihilistic tone of Torchwood seeps into Who. That wouldn't fit very well. Also they could probably have aimed for someone who was not also running another show at the same time.

Even when it was at the absolute height of its popularity, Doctor Who never got money spent on it. The production team often tried, but there was only so far to go.

Paradise Towers suffers from s24's "we can't make the villains actually scary" edict but has a lot of good ideas.

CaptainYesterday posted:I figured out the main problem with Fear Her - the third act lasts 2/3 of the episode. The moment the Doctor figures out who's snatching the kids should lead to the climax of the story, not Olympic Stadium being drawn. I'd dare say....this was a poorly written episode! Nah, the big problem is "let's make the alien voice be just the kid whispering loudly". I'm serious, I would like the episode like 100 times more if not for CHLOE WEB-BAH

The main problem with The Walking Dead in any format is it's a parade of unending horror and degradation and there's only so long you can watch people go through bad things with no end in sight. Night of the Living Dead works because it's a movie and it ends.

I'm getting just a hint of Lucie Miller. Also like her look already.

I'm definitely envisioning the universe where the TVM remained a one off, the show gets revived in 2005 etc., but it is canon that the Eighth Doctor was David loving Bowie.

Also funny is how many of the Doctors from Curse of Fatal Death are on that list.

I still think Trial is good. Clumsy but good, and addresses the question "just how much of a bastard is the Sixth Doctor?"

CobiWann posted:If there's one thing about Big Finish I've noticed as the main range rolled along and company as a whole got popular, the amount of actors/actresses I've known from other, more recent movies/shows surprises me, like Olivia d'Abo and now Haley Atwell. Atwell originally showed up in the first two EDAs, so before she was in Captain America and all that, but it's good that she's been able to do it again (she was also in a Fourth Doctor two-fer, Sands of Life and War Against the Laan). Everyone seems to have good experiences working with these guys and is all "I hope I can do this again!"

Season 10's delay may be in part to S9's ratings having taken a big hit in the fall. So they were given some extra time so that s10 would be earlier next year and hopefully not do as bad.

Davros1 posted:Anybody know anything about Dan Dare? Because BF is now doing Dan Dare: British Buck Rogers, sort of "Biggles in Space" essentially. Dan Dare is a square jawed, stiff-upper-lip space pilot who fights aliens and solves mysteries and such. Garth Ennis did a decent comic run some years back.
