the nyt had a good overview of how the community basically splintered in two over ideological differences (with one camp wanting to move more mainstream and legitimate while the other has been wanting to keep Bitcoin as something of an underground thing) and the resultant fallout as everyone tries to undermine each other.

Despite professing to be Libertarians, they seem to hate everything about Libertarianism, like reputation and unrestricted information. turns out a political and economic ideology that relies on "rational actors" struggles when individuals are put under any sense of duress and are unable to act rationally. who would have thought?
