The Gonzalez-Cuadras fight is better than the Kov-Ward fight, but I do love the latter for being so significant and actually living up to a good deal of hype.

Lomachencko should be fighter of the year. Beautifully KO'd and no mas'd two good opponents.

I'm more interested in Ninth's special set of awards he does each year. Zero to Hero, Hero to Zero, Inactivity and Dumbest Businessman awards. Those last three particularly are going to be competitive.

I've got Fury, Klitschko and Saunders for those respectively myself. Saunders basically passed on every fight that would get him even a bit of money, cancelled and delayed the poo poo fights he did agree to, and the only time he did fight he fought poorly.

Honestly my favorite part of the Christmas season is just having some time to watch all the fights I missed, and rewatch all the good fights. I'm planning to make a night of watching and thoroughly scoring Kovalev-Ward, as I had Ward winning the fight on my informal scorecard on the night of.

Frampton is fighter of the year pretty easily, I don't really get why people think Crawford deserves it. Lundy and Molina are not world class opposition. Fight of the Year imo is Shinsuke Yamanaka vs Anselmo Moreno 2

My fighter of the year is lomachenko, but frampton is pretty close. I think Crawford over postol is a really good win, but his other two fights were garbage.

Crawford's sheer dominance over the #2 man in the division combined with him making two decent dudes look like club fighters is actually pretty special.

For me it would have been Lomachenko or Crawford for the dominance factor. Obviously Frampton deserves to be in the discussion, but his wins were a lot closer than the other candidates performances this year. I am probably guilty of underrating the Quigg fight some because of it being a UK only affair. It was a big deal and probably also gets less credit in my mind due to it not really living up to the hype.

I know I've watched a bunch of fights this year, but there's so many of the fights people are calling FOTY contenders that I'm like "...they fought?" Ugh, my memory is poo poo. Also, watching the Gonzales-Cuadras fight which I know I missed, you'd think there'd be some sort of NFL rule where somebody's gotta wear a different color. I mean, they're clearly different-looking dudes, but maybe not so much from forty rows back.

No joke, I've rewritten my Fighter of the Year award about three times because every time I settle on Crawford or Frampton I think of something that makes me want to switch to the other one. They both have very strong cases, I'll keep you guys in some suspense as to who I'm going with.

In what sense? That's a real good card. The three fights before the main event are all good. One of the fights is a big women's boxing title bout. It should be a really good match. There's also a American super prospect taking on Jose Pedraza for a super featherweight.
