i kinda figured they'd skip this arc since it seemed kind of unimportant, but maybe the social things introduced here matter later down the line. Edit: now that i've finished the episode, it looks like they did in fact skip most of that story arc and went right to the one that the manga translation is still on. They cut down on the arc a lot, it was a lot more drawn out and murder-mysteryey in the manga. Of course, everything after the villains descending into that hole have yet to be scanlated, so who knows if that ending was as dumb and abrupt in the manga as it was here.
