Yeah, a lot of times his "breaks" involve doing a bunch of research too, so he should absolutely take a rest whenever he can. He just released the latest GK volume in Japan too, which always involves heavy redrawing/additions on his part. So yeah, I hope he's taking it easy.

If anyone looks at asirpa funny let alone tries to harm her sugimoto will eat their loving bones, the finale is going to be like 2/3 of the cast doing things adjacent to that, odds of survival are low across the board. My bet is it all ends with Shiraishi running for the hills bloody but alive like the end of reservoir dogs

the only ones I'm confident will survive are Asirpa, Shiraishi, and (maybe surprisingly) Koito. I want to say Kadokura and Kirawus have pretty good odds, too, but not AS good.

Then again, historically Hijikata would have been dead for decades by the time Golden Kamui takes place. I think Shiraishi and Asirpa are going to live for sure, but everyone else could as easily live or die.

Everyone just assumed it was useless because none of the lines on it were a part of the bigger star shape that let them know the gold was in Goryokaku. But just like the god kanji in Hijikata's tattoo was an "X marks the spot" type of thing indicating one specific place IN Goryokaku, the horse kanji in Kadokura's tattoo was the same thing for that horse well. EDIT: And yeah like copy said, it also reminded Hijikata that the well existed there in the first place. Otherwise he probably wouldn't have put two and two together.
