There was also the fact that Ray studied under Stein and Stein didn't remember him at all.

Basically push Hawkman out of an airlock and go back in time to get Ronnie and we're good. Jackson's got potential as a character, but until someone in the writers' room stops being an idiot about black male teenagers on this show (natural athleticism! Illegal drag racer!), he probably ought to get benched for a while.

Unfortunately Ronnie is super not coming back because Robbie was recently cast in a new Netflix science fiction show.

Probably the biggest problem with the Hawkpeople plot is that they had Kendra take way too long to accept it. Her reluctance made Carter's insistence really creepy.

They really needed to have it be more that she was already having visions of the past and Carter showing up had them make sense instead of she still doesn't remember anything and Carter keeps telling her that no, they're totally special forever soulmates.

How convenient that they are stuck in 1975 though. Legends of 40 Years Ago.

There's still at least one episode set between now and Rip's time.

This would also be a good idea. It's too bad DC is afraid to have multiple versions of characters around, because having a Batman Beyond show up would be kind of awesome, totally fitting within the show too.

Flash just did two episodes with a bunch of multiple versions of characters.

Anyway, I'm glad they're doing a future arc as the past was getting kind of boring.

arrows are CGI

Yeah, a while ago they put out a behind the scenes thing for Arrow talking about how they never actually combine a real bow and arrow while filming. The scenes where an arrow is fired is always CG and for scenes where they have an arrow drawn but are talking they have a prop that is an arrow attached to the bow.

Of course back in the day they didn't have these big city "special effects" so they actually were shooting at people with arrows and guns. They just relied on experts to hopefully not actually hit the actors.
