Beliefs are not chosen; they are not subject to the will. (since they don't choose to not be) True....although I'd argue that while one shouldn't be condemned for holding a particular belief per se we are to an extent responsible for the actions and attitudes we project into the world as a result of that belief. Thus any religion that teaches salvation (or the avoidance of hell) is only available to those who believe a certain way is no better ethical shape than one that teaches only white skinned folk are to be saved.
