Yo, Uppers looks super rad aside from the dumb panty shots and poo poo like that.

Anyways, I finished Muramasa and overall the game was alright, but it suffers a lot from kind of overstaying its welcome. The combat is fun and fluid for a while, but you sort of get everything you need out of it very quickly and Momohime's side just has a lot of really bad or unfun boss fights. She as a character is also just not very interesting, she's just a waifish princess and Jinkuro is basically the actual character the story is centered around and even he never really receives a great amount of character. Kisuke's side is a lot better because he's just more proactive as a character and his side characters also just have more to them in general like Yuzuruha and Torahime. He's also just got better boss fights and it helps his last boss isn't some tired gimmick.

It's alright, but Odin Sphere Leifthraisir and Dragon's Crown are improvements on every front from what Muramasa wanted to do and I am looking forward to Leifthraisir a lot. I will probably buy the DLC because I liked the game well enough, but the requirements to get the extra endings required a lot of tedious and boring grinding.

I liked the Momohime side of the story, so I'm glad to hear that Kisuke's side is even better. I should get around to doing his side.

Nah, I just react that way whenever I'm reminded of his existence.

I honestly don't know why. I really really dislike Portlandia, but there are other things I dislike that don't provoke such a visceral reaction.

Maybe I'm broken inside?

Video games are cool and fun tho.

anyway, is anyone here knowledgeable about vita hacks? i have 3.55 on my vita, but i want to stay there so i can forever use ark for legal things. will i just no longer be able to access psn? i can use my ps3 to send games etc.

I'm late here but the PS3 method is as good as you're going to get, you do'nt get to do anything fun like Disgaea 4 custom maps anymore.

Yeah, the big complaints were that it lacked online and a bunch of the features from normal Vs games. It's more of a Musou game with Vs elements or at least that's the main advertised mode. I cancelled my HK pre order too when they announced the US PSN release, I'll go get a 64 GB for it.

Wamdoodle posted:

Hmm. It's still on my radar but I'm not quite as enthusiastic about it as I was before :/ Eagerly awaiting your impressions then :)

I've played it for an hour or so, and my strongest impression so far is that you're playing the mission mode from the Extreme VS games. I haven't played a level that felt like a Musou game yet; at most I've had a half dozen enemies on the field with me at a time rather than the hundreds that are common in Musous. On the other hand, you can more directly control your AI buddies than you usually can, which is nice. The battleship escort missions are piss poo poo like they are in every loving video game since time began, god drat why do they insist on doing them.

This is an OK review, I think:

I saw an interesting thing about Vita development in a second attempt at Undead Darlings (a DRPG by former Hyperdimension Neptunia translators)

quote:

I love my Vita. Over 96GB of games and I still need more room. Dungeon crawlers work great on the Vita for their burst-playability. However, the Vita presents a series of hurdles—mainly cost-related—that prevent us from being able to support it right out of the gates. Unity has ceased its compatibility with Vita partially (its updates can no longer be assumed to be compatible with the Vita), which endangers compatibility of our game between builds/versions. That said, we can't in good conscience state that we're going to be crowdfunding for this specific platform because the costs associated with developing for it are a lot higher than the average gamer may think, especially now. And as a company's first title, these financial hurdles are simply too high for us to leap...

I think that's going to kill the indie scene quickly.
