Yeah I am not able to currently confirm this but I have heard this from other places--is this true? Somebody said that the lower priority for the Xcom 2 process was basically an illusion of being alt+tabbed out of the game to look at the task manager (or something, can't remember exactly what).

This looks loving awesome.

Why is moleman Julian Gollop hanging out in a cave and/or dungeon with lanterns, though?

Perhaps, but a very real name for a gun. The question is, can we get a gun expert looking at the Bullpup used by the Skirmishers to see if the name is appropriate?

Probably. The magazine is loaded behind the trigger and grip, and you can tell from the doodads that the action is most likely behind the trigger as well.

Alright, so the xpac is $40 on Steam. Cheapest I found is $29.51 on GMG, use the code 2017E318OFF for the full discount. Works for me in the states, dunno about other parts of the world.

drat, I've been really stoked about the expansion since I first heard about it, but somehow I've remained completely oblivious to the price (until now). Thanks for this info--just picked up a copy.

I had to look that up to share.

Xenonauts really does have a lot of personality. I think the biggest shame for me is that the aliens are, aesthetically, really dull. One of the most common enemies looks vaguely like people in Christmas sweaters; every opponent (to my knowledge) is a bipedal humanoid of approximately the same size. I think the Reaper is actually the most "alien" of the bunch, but it's really not a crazy looking thing in its own right.

It's funny to go from Xenonauts to something like X-Com Apocalypse, which had a zoo of veiny, pulpy mongoloids ranging from fat little "head crab" creatures to monstrosities the size of skyscrapers.

Is there a way to make Long War 2 enabled with the Not So Long War second wave option from Long War from EU2012? I like a lot of stuff it's added, like Haven management and new classes and enemy types, and the infiltration mechanic is really cool (I felt really smug when my 6 man squad took out 20 ADVENT dudes. :v:) but there's just so many missions I feel like I'm going to lose interest.

I would also be interested in this, for very similar reasons.

Just don't use shady store sites at all, really.

Green Man is alright in this case because they deal directly with 2K, but gently caress pretty much everyone else.

Yeah Green Man Gaming is very reputable. I've bought a lot of bigger titles from them, including XCOM EU/EW, Mad Max, Fallout 4, and Resident Evil 7--all of which were cheaper than on Steam. Thanks to another poster in this thread, I ended up buying the XCOM 2 Expansion for $29.99--not sure if the voucher codes still apply since it's been a few weeks--but if it does work still, it'd probably be worth going through them rather than some weird unknown site.

EDIT: drat it looks like the additional 15% off voucher code for Greenman Gaming no longer works. You can still preorder a copy on GMG for like $34 but there are no additional discounts that I can find.

do green man gaming usually get you your key on time? i see they've got war of the chosen for 29.99 right now and would enjoy saving ten bucks, but not if i am going to have to wait to get my key at some random rear end not in time to preload time

I've bought XCOM, Fallout 4, and probably half a dozen other AAA games from them and have always gotten my key prior to a game's release--usually 2 or 3 days prior. With that in mind, I bought my copy of WotC through them about two weeks ago and haven't gotten my key yet.

The Apocalypse entire game is hilarious. Burn down every building with dual wielded grenade launchers armed with a combination of HE and WP, stick missiles on your squadron of hover bikes, accidentally blow up all the roads and so taxis carrying your new recruits can't get to base and nobody is willing to sell you gear, so you have to source all your weapons and explosives from raiding the arms companies and gangs. XCom becomes even worse than the aliens for the city.

Seriously, retaliatory raids felt so good in Apocalypse. Cult of Sirius holed up in their tower? Det-charge the building into rubble and execute the survivors. Or bomb the entire block to dust from the relative safety of the worldscape. Aliens playing hide-and-go-seek with you in an apartment complex? Gas & burn the building to the ground.

I seem to recall more than one occasion where I was at odds with the organization responsible for city-wide public transportation, and they refused to transport new recruits to any of my facilities. So I had to send an X-Com vehicle to pick them up as if I was starting a tactical mission (and blow up a few of the organization's roads/buildings on the way back to base, for good measure).

Yeah I preordered the original XCOM, Enemy Within, Fallout 4, Mad Max, and some Borderlands content on GMG--all of the codes were received 48-72 hours prior to launch. I've never had this "3 hours prior to launch and nothing yet" scenario with GMG before.

In addition to that, they've also said that they're going to rework their individual mods (like the standalone SMG mod) to work with WotC.
