Was XCOM one of those games that required you to play in the region you bought it in or simply activate it? I've been in the dark the past few months with XCom 2...and hell till I noticed the new thread I had no idea the release date was so soon...but it looks fantastic feature wise...so I want to buy it.

CrazyLoon posted:I thought US capitalism was supposed to be all like: "Competition gets us the best of the best." while in my socialist country there's only a few that just go wherever and whoever calls on them, cause the infrastructure was laid all across the country. But then again, our country is also tiny compared to the wide swathes of the US. People need FIOS. That's the issue. Uncapped and when wired to the computer I'm getting like 7mbs.

Why did I pick the one key store that is being lazy? Well at least it's paypal so it's easy to fix. Still not playing or even downloading the game though.

Chin Strap posted:Running on a poo poo integrated video laptop but it is running OK at minimum settings. The only really annoying part is there is like 20 seconds between the last alien move and when I can go again every turn. Don't know if it is just the tutorial or if it will always be this bad, but it doesn't seem to be a graphics card issue as the graphics stay responsive during the whole time, it is just like there is this giant pause in scripting. Guess I can have hope with my GTX 440 then. Though somehow that ran the Division Beta in high...so perhaps it's all just shifty optimization.

What reason is it that the game is so huge (24gb)? I mean with Fallout 4 it made sense being large open world and Bethesda...but I'm a bit confused here.

So why if i succeed in the main objective (hack a workstation and extract all agents) is it a failure if I don't kill all the enemies, but if I say don't extract all agents (no requirement to kill all enemies) and still get the vip out, it's a pass and excellent rating. I get getting a lower rating, but not a mission failed. But it seems that the council member treats it as a success, and I pass the dark event (and get the benefit). So...was it okay? I mean mission rating doesn't matter if I get the primary done and extract all my agents.

Wizard Styles posted:This is how it works across difficulties and it also applies to armor. You manufacture special things like EXO suits and ammo upgrades individually, but upgrades to basic weapons and armor are done once and then everybody gets them. And this is why I just restarted my campaign (it was in a hopeless state otherwise), so many of the geoscape mechanics and changes take a while to get used to.
