I thought Night Striker took the top position since breakthrough came out. I see it recommended everywhere, even the in-game store has a "Best for Beginners" or something tag on it now.

They rotated all of the XY video game era sets, and now the sets from when ORAS came out and on are legal. It wasn't really that random. The same thing happened with the two previous rotations as well. Last rotation was XY video game era and on, the one before that was BW2 video game era and on. Next rotation isn't likely to be as clear-cut though. They probably will only take out PRC/ROS/AOR and be BREAK series on, then the 2019 rotation after that being Sun/Moon on.
