You jerks are making me nostalgic for Hackers and I didn't even like the movie the first time around. Speaking about crappy 90's movies, any other guilty pleasures for folks here from stuff from the 90's? I am still partial to Spawn myself.

The Toronto Game Jam has a tradition of showing Hackers on the last night. Unfortunately I always skip it because I am busy making a drat game or sleeping my rear end off.

The first season had a handful of great ideas, executed about as poorly as possible—but the ideas were there! And the show predicted smartphones more accurately than anything else on television did which is neat.

The only thing that's sub-optimal about this in any way is that it's trades rather than singles, which is slightly more annoying to read in order because in a lot of places you technically have to duck out of one trade to start reading another, and then back again. It's not actually that straightforward with singles either, though, and TMNT is one of the few IDW series that doesn't allow comixology backups downloading for you to just feed into a standalone reader with the files renamed to fix the order for you, so it only barely matters. The series is good as hell though, if batshit crazy from the word go.

Typing that out made it look a whole lot more daunting than it is.

I will never not be nostalgic for 90s cyberpunk. I mean, yeah, it looks stupid now, but it looked so cool then, and I can remember it looking cool, and remember the idea of the internet being 3d environments you entered into with helmets and gloves, rather than laptops and slick, friendly, sometimes counter-intuitive GUI (and not even sinister, corporate friendly GUI with a mocking tone of cynicism backed into it) I mean, why don't I get to look like this? Instead I just carry a phone and a normal briefcase.
