Oh god. That sounds like a ton of fun. Jealous!

You need to incorporate the ferry into a challenge somehow. I don't know how exactly but since part of it will literally take place on the sea it's a must. Also, if something is happening for the return trip go through the lower mainland and be forced to take Hwy 7, the Lougheed right smack through the middle of Vancouver, Burnaby and Coquitlam. Preferably during rush hour(s)

Instead of 3 from Creston to Oosoyoos, you need to take 23 and 6 up through Nakusp. It's basically the best driving road in Canada and to miss it on something like this is probably a criminal offense.

Yeah, or even 31 or whatever it's called and spend the night at Ainsworth Hot Springs. The Crowsnest route is a far better for sightseeing/having fun than the #1 so good choice there, but the Kootneys is gorgeous. Even if you go north just to make your way back south again. You might want to make it 2 days.

I've never been to the Nakusp springs but probably will go this year. I have been to Ainsworth and concur it is great. The best part was this sort of grotto cave hot spring that was warmer than the main pool and a little more private. This area is a little off the beaten path too so they are nowhere near as busy as Radium, Fairmont or Harrison.

The Nakusp hot springs are definitely a test of the average person's car. I'm so surprised when I see the people who have made it up there. Halfway used to be really cool but I've heard it'd really not open to the public at all now. When I went it was definitely not being advertised but it seemed like people were generally cool with respectful visitors.

Really? I thought it was a good road with a small hotel and serviced camping?

Or is there maybe some other private water hole the locals use?

Also for $200 that interior looks great. Exterior shots?

To balance out the shittyness that is that loving axle - here's something awesome.

Our Asahi "sponsorship" package has arrived. HUGE kudos to Grant Shaw with Beverage Concepts International out of Burnaby, BC.

Total tally:
  • Two beer tap handles - now that I see them, leaning towards the clear one as the shift knob (The other will be used on my future kegerator)
  • Three foil decals - two going on the rear quarters with the third probably going on my future kegerator or beer fridge
  • Two hats - stickers must remain attached and worn flat billed
  • Two tshirts - must be worn with the sleeves rolled up with a pack of smokes tucked in
  • Four sunglasses - must be worn at all times, even at night
  • Five Asahi pens - will live in glove box and be handed out to interested parties during the rally
  • Ten? key chain bottle openers - will live in glove box and be handed out to interested parties during the rally
  • Six year of the monkey good luck Emas - each team gets one for their rear view mirror (The remainder have already been claimed by myself and DrakeriderCa for our vehicles.)

I also need some goons to chime in and confirm that my fiance is in fact amazing for letting me plan and do this - she doesn't believe me when I say that she's awesome and other goons significant others wouldn't be this chill with such an endeavor.

Where do you guys want to go for our planned first destination?

Nakusp is possible, but it's gonna be a slog, 8.5 hours of just driving. I'm sure we'll need at least 2-4 fuel stops, lunch break, etc.

Sure would be to nice relax in the springs after that kind of day though.

Creston or Nelson might be more realistic.

(I don't think we should bother planning our stops beyond the next day because poo poo's gonna happen)

Depending on your route, but assuming its via the Crowsnest, Ainsworth Hot Springs would be about 1.5-2 hours less than Nakusp and while I can't speak for the campgrounds the pools are (or at least were) really nice.
