I guess I watched too many space documentaries as a kid because I was terrified of comets/asteroids/meteors and the idea that one would wipe out the human race. One day I learnt that Jupiter sort of protected Earth by drawing away lots of comets, so every night before I went to sleep I would send a prayer of thanks to the planet Jupiter, certain that if I didn't, we'd all be doomed.
