I've had the opposite issue of the above poster. Fedex is terrible and Brown is mediocre, but USPS is generally fine. Though that's probably a regional issue. edit: I do have the benefit of living in a small house rather than an apartment though.

I don't know if it says something very dire about New Jersey's job market that twenty somethings are taking jobs that in the mid west only sixteen year olds take, or something very dire about the number of Midwestern pedophiles or both.

The really good merchandise is bought back by the manufacturer and anything else that is decent is sent elsewhere (either remaining stores if a reorg or sold to other chains if a liquidation) and the poo poo that remains will have tags on it suggesting prices were slashed but in reality it is being sold for a markup on MSRP so you're playing more than if it was normally operating. They rely on people not knowing the true price and assuming it is a deal. About the only thing you can get on the cheap are store fixtures.

I've seen people making arguments to the effect of "no, it's always racism, it's just racism." Well...no. The call centers in India pretty frequently don't seem to care at all if the people they hire speak English at all. I don't give a single poo poo what color the person on the other end of the phone is as long as I can talk to them and get poo poo done. Somebody that doesn't speak a language well should not be hired to provide customer support for callers who speak that language. I don't give a crap what language that is; you wouldn't hire me to give tech support to people that only speak Spanish because my Spanish skills are bad. So really it isn't worth giving a single solitary poo poo about their English skills BigDave posted:How did India end up as the outsource call center of the world anyway? They should keep the call centers that are already in India/America where they are; just give their employees actual troubleshooting tools and real training. Nothing is gonna be fixed by marginally better English. Also it's lovely to fire everyone and move a business regardless of the country it's based in.

I mean encountered from the side of working in call centers or working with them to provide higher level tech support, not calling them. This has all been for computer or networking stuff. If they had you working on multiple different venues it would be harder to justify paying you below minimum wage and giving "monthly performance based bonuses" that always worked out to less than 10/hr even though they marked you down as making 30k a year on insurance paperwork.

Also Mayan ethnic groups in the Yucatan were able to survive the unintentional parts of the genocide significantly better than most other native Americans. This was more or less entirely because they had very low population density and were isolated from other populations.
