Collin and Kanbei are two CO's that made me wonder about their balance the second I looked at their stats. They have an obvious mathematical weirdness about them. Other CO's like Jess and Grit have a solid idea on paper, an obvious strength and an obvious weakness, but the strengths and weaknesses just doesn't turn out to be equal once you play the game vs humans.

Advance Wars is a bit funny in how it handles the story. There's the main story that's being told over all the mission and then there's the stories being told in a single mission. The first Advance wars had a working main story, but the missions themselves treated the COs as the only living entities. Advance Wars 2 did the opposite, the main story was just "Black hole is back and they conveniently divided their forces for our benefit", but the mission for mission writing was good enough. Advance Wars DS made both the main story and the mission for mission writing poor while Days of Ruin had good writing for both. It's like the series had to represent every possible combination of good and bad writing within those two aspects.

At this point, saying the site is back is like saying "the yo-yo is back".

For boss games, wouldn't a good strategy for the underdogs be to pick COs with 2 HP damage to all SCOPs and maybe even fire them of more or less in the same turn?
