nothings cut off for me on crunchyroll, even the little thing after the ED is subbed

When I view it on Crunchyroll, the part after the ending always cuts off a bit early, like it's missing 3-5 seconds of every episode. The text and translation shows in full, just the narration (which is the same as the text) cuts off partway through.

Yeah it's no more than a couple of seconds, but it cuts off before whoever is narrating is finished. Weird.

The fifth episode was another good one with a lot of stuff to love: The group weaseling their way to clearing the quest just like you would in any pen-and-paper RPG, how they all view the steely eyed hero as a total dork, and how Kazuma's getting a villainous reputation as an unstoppable stealer of panties.

But best of all was Dullahan being really sore that nobody's invading his creepy castle -- like a neglected dungeon boss with hurt feelings showing up at the city gates and throwing a fit. And now it's just another seven long days until the next episode...

Or maybe there's some sort of disenchanting system or whatnot in this realm where you can extract mystical power from items.

Someone who wants to resell it to that one person, preferably with higher markup.

In Kazuma case, the skill steals what the target values most due to his abnormal luck. Luck in this series influences the accuracy/effectiveness of a skill, and the likelihood for crazy bullshit to happen.

It is such a bull claim that luck is a useless stat for an adventurer. If Fallout taught me anything, it is that maxing luck makes the game so broken it starts begging you to ease off, as you chain critical hits and rob casinos of all their money. "What's that? Two kings? Double-down. :smug: I won."

Iretep

In a rpg luck stat is as useful as the setting makes it. Some games like demons souls made luck useless since it only affected one weapons damage and item drops. In others it increases your damage and allows you to pull off some stunts you wouldnt be able to do normally. Like in new vegas you can fake a security phrase with high luck or empty the casinos of money. It's actually pretty rare when luck stat is worth a drat in a game.

Ah, that makes sense. At first I thought he for some reason managed to get an underwear only version.

I'm pretty sure Kazuma kept getting panties because that's what he wanted most from them. We've seen what a creep he is, and how he liked getting those far more than he did the valuable sword from the thief girl and stuff. I haven't seen the new episode because I don't have premium, but I'm assuming he got the sword because that's actually what he wanted here. (Also if the person with it was male Kazuma wouldn't have wanted his underwear anyway.) He also stole cabbage from the cabbages... Somehow.

So, yeah. With his Luck he's going to be getting "perfect" steals every time probably.

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but when exactly did we see that?

Other than the panty thing, which we can't rely on in this context since it would be circular reasoning, I mean.

it really depends on if his high luck gives him the "thing he most wants to steal" or the "thing they least want to have stolen". from the data we have so far, i don't think a judgement can be made.

That's a legitimately cool idea that I'm surprised I had never thought of or seen before.

In retrospect, it seems obvious, especially considering that building a short-ish game in RPGMaker probably takes less time/effort than directing/drawing/voicing a full OVA.

Everything about this is amazing.

-Kazuma is the only one who can normal attack
-Aqua can't attack well but is a good healer
-Megumin takes three turns to chant then nukes everything out of existence
--Explosion takes 387 or more MP to cast :eyepop: also drains HP to 1
-Darkness's attacks always miss and she blocks every attack with substitution

The show does a good job of toying with but not falling into standard Anime tropes.

They cut the legs out on the tsund aspect by showing that Aqua wants to hang around Kaz only a few episodes in, yet they also are not doing the harem thing as none of the characters mooning over him either. They also make fun of it by having the creepy hero guy having a creepy harem.

Kaz isn't clueless/oblivious MC guy and makes reasonable plans with his slightly above average intelligence, but isn't Perfect Plan guy either, and he luck sacks his way through instead. Although sometimes his plans just work because he isn't stupid.

Yea I like that Kaz isn't a bumbling idiot or THE CHOSEN ONE WHO WILL LEAD US TO VICTORY, he's just kinda a normal guy who gets lucky sometimes and sometimes genuinely has a good idea. I wasn't expecting to like this show so much but like others said it's nice to just have a fun anime that's not trying to be anything more than a funny anime.

This is my favorite part about him. In the latest episode (5) when he instantly charges the guy who wants to fight, throws him off balance, then steals his sword. Totally pulled it off! Didn't sit there dumbfounded, just satisfied at a well executed plan.
